Yeah, feels like this whole toy is a step down from the BWII C-16 Lio Convoy. I get what they are trying to do with the real cartoon look. IMO, the MP line should follow a much higher standard in design without compromises like this.

I am a huge fan of Beast Wars but I stopped collecting the MP line years ago. With the price point of the MP line now I'm happy with that decision. I am more than happy with the original toys I have of these characters.

To each their own i guess, but to say this is a step down and that the original toy is better is just crazy. I have the original toy and this MP is far superior in design, accuracy and proportions.

And about the visible lion face on the inside, I agree it is a bit distracting, but the person taking the pics probably did that intentionally. It is just ridiculous to call and label this inferior to an older toy because of that. If we start mentioning the negatives on the original toy, the score would heavily favor the new MP

You are missing the point I am making. The MP line should not be about show accuracy. It should be about making the ULTIMATE, beyond the cartoon, recreations of the characters like the original MP-1 Convoy and many of the MP G1 toys are. Even the MP BW Primal, Megatron and Cheetor were enhanced, but this figure has been simplified to be just like the toon. IMO, the BWII C-16 Lio Convoy is very much enchanted from the cartoon, with larger size, better detailing and more features.

I DO UNDERSTAND they are going to for the cartoon look and that is great for people who want it. The good news is we have BOTH and that's just PRIME.

    • Yeah he's a pretty chunky monkey! I'm hoping his bulk lends itself well to some of my future builds! 😄
    • Uh did I miss something? Where does it say that it's a partial of Huffer? It's not stated in the quote here or in the livestream. In this quote it even says that it's "ALL NEW in three molds!!!". I mean it's standing right there next to Huffer and nothing looks to be shared. Nothing can be shared either as there's nothing in common with their transformations and all their parts work differently from their hands to their knees to their ankles to their waists, arms and torsos. Cosmos' transformation looks most similar to Warpath which would explain the leakers saying that it was a retool. Even then however, they share no parts. Warpath also has what looks to be like twice the parts count from all the flaps compared to Cosmos. I take this full quote as it's completely new as he states that there's a certain budget for new molds and that Takara managed to work within that budget to get all the parts needed while only using three mold sprues. It looks it as there's not a lot of individual parts. It looks like there's one mold in green, one mold in yellow and one unpaintable mold also in yellow. Two of the three shades of green are paint, the yellow on the arms and face is paint, both shades of blue are paint, the red is paint, the silver is paint. Which makes me wonder where the flag came from. If it came from one of the molds for Cosmos then it's not white. Meaning that they also used black and white paint. That's a shit ton of colors used on just one figure. There's also quite a bit of paint on him in general.  This guy is just showing him next to one of the other "Minibots" to better get a feel for his overall size. Not to show that Cosmos is a partial of Huffer.
    • In what has been a bit of a trying week, and limits imposed on some social media, I also celebrate 3 years of GotBot Goes Live and being married  (yes, they both coincide) with a Wednesday edition of the live show covering Legacy and Velocitron leaks and a few channel updates!
