Gen 1 BumbleBee Error

Recommended Posts

Hey all, Just found this place. I was a HUGE fan of the GEN 1 stuff when I was an early teen, and I've still got all of them. The only real annomily is that I have a "BumbleBee" who is RED! And there was another character that was similar to bumbleBee and I have HIM in yellow. Any thoughts or comments on this subject? Is what I have a common thing or is it rare? The reason I ask is that my stuff on the whole isn't woth that much money as a collection and my son LOVES the new transformers so I'm thinking of giveing him my complete collection, but if these two are a rareity I would leave them out. Any help would be greately appreciated.

It was common I think. There were left overs from the diclone line and they threw them into the TF line. This also explains Bumble/bumblejumper.

Congratulations. You just discovered red Bumblebee. He's usually seen hanging out together with his pals, yellow Cliffjumper and Bumper. Though not as common as the standard yellow Bumblebee and red Cliffjumper, Redbee and Yellowjumper are not really "rare" from what I know. At least not as rare as Bumper.

The overstock theory, however, is heavily debated. If I wasn't about to go to bed just now, I'd look up the respective links. Maybe someone else might want to fill in for me?

Yah silly me I just did a search and found old threads of the discussion. But I also read that there was never a confirmed yellow cliffjumper? If this is true I've got the proof at my mom's house! I have the orginal cards to go with them but they are not in the packaging. Any Ideas on my delima of giving these to my son to play with (note he's 3). I'm just concerned that I would be giving him something to break that is actually worth some cash.

actually. from the "bumper" link you gave me that's what I have that I'm calling "yellow cliffjumper". it was packaged in a standard cliffjumper card, but looks just like this:

I'd call the yellow cliffjumper & red bumblebee uncommon.

But Bumper (bumblejumper) He's hard to get.

Trust me. I know.

Bumper is what they'd call rather rare!

Yellow Cliffjumper and Red Bumblebee are relatively rare nowadays, you'll see the odd one on sale on Ebay but they're a little special.

Don't give them to your son to play with - the head comes off pretty easily and the wheels don't take much bashing. Buy him some of the Gobots instead, they're much more youngster friendly!

ok well here is the big question, what kinda price WOULD you be looking at for:

yellow cliffjumper

red bumblebee

bumper

Just for my own reference?

No idea but it was a red bumblebee with rubsign which started me collecting again a few years ago
