Lookin good man, but here's a tip so that you can still see the black lines:

 

In Photoshop, create a new layer over the black and white one, and set it's blending to 'Multiply' and paint your colors in that new layer. Then just paint like you normally would. This way, you can still get the colors down, but you can also see the lines of the art without worry of painting over them.

Or set the magic wand select tolerance to 0-10%. Does Photoshop have that option? I may try Fireworking this later...

I started working on a recolor of this using Burning Convoy on Wing Saber... I hope to have it finished soon. Maybe later tonight.
