I never had him as a kid. And, in fact, up until I got back into TFs in my adulthood I never even knew that the cab was a white version of OP. I thought the big red and blue monstrosity WAS Ultra Magnus. Especially since he was never in the smaller for in the show or the comics ...

 

I dunno, I guess Ultra Magnus never interested me much ....

i'm sorry, i can't deal with this thread now.

I basically just put the white cab aside and used the car carrier as armor for the real Prime. Back then there was no such thing as Super Modes, but it just felt right giving Prime body armor.

 

Later on I ended up painting the white cab into Prime colors.

 

And when my brother broke him it actually added to the play value. Now I could play with the real Prime and pretend that he got damaged. I would use the injured (white cab repaint) 'Prime' and have him need to put on the body armor to be able to fight. I now find it funny that my idea was not to far off from Ultra Magnus' real armor origin story.

I thought he was the white prime from prime's rebirth.. It was a handme down so I never knew....... He's missing three tires and I have the reissue now. So now I have a white prime and Ultra magnus!

I always thought of it as Alpha Trion rebuilding Orion Pax as Optimus and giving him the Matrix, and rebuilding Dion as Ultra Magnus in the same schematic as Optimus, however, without the Matrix Magnus wasn't near as strong, so Alpha Trion built him the trailor armor to boost his strength closer to Optimus and to better combat the new Decepticon threat...

i always played with him in his white cab mode sans armor. mine had the blue/sliver/red/yellow highlights so even without the armor he looked really cool, especially cause i used an extra pair of optimus hands. i used his trailer as a sick bay for autobots after battle and he was the head/battlefield medic. over ratchet,perceptor and wheeljack.

I did the Hate Plague Prime like a lot of you, but mostly just stuck with him being Ultra Magnus...the coolest (oddest) thing I ever did with him was, when I tried to turn my whole room into a Cybertron City, I used him to represent a statue of Optimus at the entrance. It was all white because it was made of stone.

I lost one of Magnus' fists :tfsad (BTW, I'm talking about Reissue Magnus), I used Magnus as a Sniper, then when he puts his armour on he becomes Heavy Support. UM is second in command of my Autobot forces, his arch-enemy is RID Bludgeon.

Hey Megatron Manson. If you can find your local comic shop, chances are you'll find some copies of the DW TF books and if you're really lucky, a few rare TFs. Try doing a search on yell.co.uk.

I picked up my Magnus as I was growing out of TF's. The last time I played with him, he (and many others) were brutally shot. I still have the remains but he's more of a 25 piece toy now.
