I don't want to debate the Matrix either, but I do have one thing to say:

EDIT: I will say, though, that it is certainly easier to watch the first Matrix film without getting into the philosophy -- you can watch that as a straight action flick and still really enjoy it. Reloaded and Revoutions kind of depend upon people tracking with the various philosophical/religious subtexts in the movies, though. As such I'm sure they lost a lot of people.

There ain't nothing SUBtextual about Neo being on a giant glowing crucifix (for all intents and purposes) at the end of Revolutions. And's that's my big beef with the "philosophy". There's nothing sub about the subtext.

But..us...back on topic...at least Unicron wasn't in the third one. :tflaugh

Well, actually...the "Machine Lord" (forgive me, I only saw Revolutions once, and I did like it) did bear a slight resemblance to the "Chaos Bringer".

Ah yes, the aptly named Deus Ex Machina...

Yeah, when I pointed it out to one of my friends who was with me, he just kind of gave me a forced laugh and shook his head.
