You know, there's really no reason that the armor should make him considerably larger than MP Prime. You can see from the design I did on the other Magnus thread, crude as it may be, that snap-on RID fire convoy-type armor should be able to work just as well as anything, plus still allow for posability assuming it's in enough pieces, and not really bulk him up too much, either. Naturally, the shoulders should be bigger, the feet should probably be bigger, and the chest should stick out a little ways, but that's not going to add a whole extra foot to the thing. Maybe two or three inches at the most. Magnus was always a little heavier than Prime anyway. That's kind of the point. But make no mistake, this should not and will not be anywhere near Unicron/Fort Max/Omega Supreme, size-wise.

Your crude digibash was exactly what i had in mind, albeit with lifts to raise his height slightly and a bit meatier on the arms but it cant be hard can it? MPOP started a G1 accurate robot mode lets hope they stick with that

i actually dont think it would be that hard to make armor for him, hardest part would probably be the helmet and making sure the armor doesnt make him look out of proportion

im all for the ultra magnus, i was plannig on kitbashing one anyway, so this saves me the trouble of doing it. now if it doesndt come with armor ill just make some :thumb

With a simple twist to the story like War Dawn P2 as to how Alpha Tion rebuilt Dion with the same configuration as Prime but only white, Transfans would all be like........so that's why Magnus looks like Prime. Transfans would've probably just treated like another seekers fiasco.

 

What made people pissed off, not so much that he looks like Prime after all g1 is full of repaints, is the fact that Magnus never debut in either Cartoon or Marvel and now this repaint figure is getting huge attention thanks to DW. The irony is that Magnus cab robot mode was released in TF Jr. line, appeared on back box art, and toy commercial, yet people don't see it. I mean, it's not like DW certainly become creative and come up with a new idea to invent UM.

Yeah, I do think if the armor taking RID Prime armor as an example, UM should not be taller than MP Prime by much.

to me magnus always seemed taller mainly as a kid it seemed logical that a cab plus its trailer(UM) combined it would be bigger then just a cab(prime)

Y'know, instead of giving Magnus the black Megatron gun, why doesn't Takara give him a Galvatron pistol?

 

I know that Galvatron never transformed into his pistol mode in the movie/cartoons, but he DOES have that third mode. Seems logical to me.

You know I would trade the energon axe, Megatron gun, and Prime black gun, just for the Magnus/Ultra rightful white gun.

Wouldn't a reversible gun make no sense on a toy that doesn't even need it? A correct Ultra Magnus laser rifle would at least make the toy a little less of a rip-off.
