I like it... I honestly think the comic style complements the characters and material.

While the DW style of TF drawing is also great, I think there is something to be said about alternative drawings that deviate from the norm.

Like the old Marvel days you would have multiple stories in the same universe illustrated by different people in different styles and it enhanced the series. I would love to see an issue or a sub story drawn like this.

Thanks. :)

I really do like the Dreamwave style, but sometimes it just seems a little cartoony in places (big "balloon" hands and feet, wonky exaggerated perspective etc. etc.) Really, though, the "Dreamwave style" is probably just Pat Lee's personal style interpreted by artists he's brought on board -- much like how everybody at Top Cow draws like Marc Silvestri, etc. It's the "house style."

I'd like to see comics companies take more chances like Marvel and DC used to, but it's just a sign of the times. Comics aren't selling nearly as well as they were 10 or 15 years ago and the companies like to play it safe. When a certain style is a proven seller, often times the company will hire artists who draw in a similar style or tell their current team to change their style to look more like Joe Blow comic artist -- whoever is hot at the moment.

While I've done some comics work here and there, I've been told that to stay busy in the industry full-time, you really have to have 3 or 4 marketable styles.

And it looks like Dreamwave's TF sales have slipped a bit in the past few months. They're unlikely to want to deviate from "the norm" at this point. Unless, of course, they want to shake things up to try and bring in some new readers. In which case, I'd be more than happy to oblige. :tflaugh1

Didn't Devil's Due have Jae Lee do TF/G.I. Joe? Bet that was REALLY different than Dreamwave. I may have to pick an issue or two of that up sometime...

gr8 stuff dude cant wait to see more

That is truely excellent! I love the first picture, second frame the best.. The larger ship has a few perspective problems but the detail just draws your eye away from it.

Awesome "warm up". As I always say.. wish I could draw this good. :(

ya know...there is still a lot they could do with Armada, they have 10 years to work with. Characters that didn't appear in the book, or those that dissapeared in Energon etc...Sir, you could be the one to draw it :D

Uploading 4th page... got at least one more to finish, but I may shoot for six...

They don't explain the time lapse in the comics? I wouldn't know -- never read Energon. The cartoon *briefly* explains what happened between the series, but I'd love to know why all of the characters suddenly had new bodies and alt modes... :tfhuh

Fourth page is lovely too! I'd love to have the chance to color some of those if you don't kind?

You can if you'd like. Can you pull them off the posts or do you need me to send you the files?

wow

that 4th page is great man!

good use of line weights, storytelling is fairly easy to follow, and the detail is still incredible. I love the way you've depicted starscream here.

he looks awesome:D
