Thanks to ACToys member andyanapple today we have our first in hand look at the final production version of Fansproject's third Headmaster-style Function series figure Smart Robin, based on Brainstorm. Unfortunately it looks like the rumors of a faceplate option have proven false, but this figure looks top notch in all other regards. Check out the gallery with over fifty photos here. Much better than the one made by Toy World.

it isn't a deal breaker for me but I am really hoping to see that face plate he supposedly comes with.

Two people so far have Smart Robin and neither show a faceplate. So whether there was truly ever an intention for an add-on faceplate to be included, it didn't happen.

Much better than the one made by Toy World.

I would agree the Alt mode looks much better.

Faceplate or not, I'll concede I prefer Smart Robin's head sculpt to that of the Toy World equivalent. It copies the original toy a little too much there and clashes with the styling of the rest of the toy. Smart Robin is pretty well superior in every regard. I honestly don't know what was up at Toy World when theirs was being designed given how excellent their Throttlebots look. ...as transforming robot figures anyway. They look less and less like Throttlebots all the time, but they're attractive toys anyway.
