Cubex Huffer Project Images Reveal Third Party Masterpiece Scale Mini-Bot!

Recommended Posts

Cubex%20Thrid%20Party%20Not%20Masterpiec Thanks to the a heads from FMH we have images from third party toy makers Cubex who are working a Masterpiece scale homage to the G1 Huffer character. The images show what looks to be a nearly completed MP scale mini-bot action figure that is surreal looking at this size. Regardless, Cubex have captured the vehicle mode very well and the robot is not looking to shabby either, with a very slick rendering of the cartoon character. No word on price and release dates at this time.

Wow....we went from no love for Huffer to now 3 different companies working on him. I have to say I like this version of Huffer. I would think now that 3rd party companies would realize that if you are going to show pictures of the actual figure, you gotta show size comparison pictures with a figure we know especially if you are doing one for the Masterpiece collectors. :tfevil Now the question I'm sure everyone is asking......can he tow Primes trailer? We already know one of them can, that may be a deal breaker for some....I know it is a major factor for me.....:tfevil

Three companies? Which? I know that X-Transbot is working on this one and then there is this one. Who is making the third?

As for no HUFFER love. Where do you get that? Hasbro released one in PPC I think and there was the SDCC Huffer from Amourhide. Then you had iGear make MiniWarrior Huffer and the recolour. I think Huffer has seen his fair share of releases. Although I would welcome an upsized Rager anyday.

I have to admit I am liking the Cubex version much more than the X-Transbot version. The X-Trans version is very nice and more detailed and more refined but it does not match the look of MP's. This one feels more like the animation model in both modes. If I could recommend changes it would be to change those human lips and the arms.

I look forward to these Huffer wars. Personally with MP BB coming I will wait a bit and see what Takara has in the works.

When I say no love I mean....he didn't get his own mold. I mean if you want to just count releases...then okay....PCC Huffer and TFP Commander Huffer, but I'm sorry those really aren't the figure. The 3 companies that have recently gave him love is iGear, Xtrans, and Cubex. The only love he got was repaints of other figures from Hasbro which you mentioned...except I'm not familiar with what PPC is? I have the X-trans ones on Preorder and I may get this one as well...Like I said before I like this Alt mode better than the Xtrans, but their Robot mode I think looks better...so I may just get both......:tfevil

I dunno about Huffer's lips....they looks a little large for his face and a little too feminine. They also looks to human and not enough like a robot.....everything else is pretty darn good though...

Well, he has a name now. Not very imaginative, he's called Huff.

I think for G1 & Masterpiece fans, this might be the one to get.

I have decided to get both this one and the Xtrans and make the final decision when I have them both in hand.....I'm so glad that GI Joe is on Hiatus for a while.....:tfevil
