I HAVE TO AGREE WITH bc, ENJOY THEM FOR WHAT THEY ARE,NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED. At least we have new versions of our old dino buddies.

Personally I dont care for swoop, it just doesnt seem to be a solid figure, but I love Grimlock. He is kinda cartoony, but he has a G1 Transformation, and is a pretty sturdy bot. I do agree that their combined mode is not sturdy at all, and is just downright wrong on some level.

 

But they are toys, and make a great addition to my dinobots.

I'm happy with them. I would only have changed a few things - if they couldn't alter the fists to be E-friendly (they were not originally meant to go with the E-line, IIRC), they should've at least gave em their original weapons. (from what i heard, a combining gun and sword each). And well, this is just wishful thinking, i wanted Grimlock to be taller than Swoop in Robot mode. it's funny, they KNEW that would be a gripe, because anyone who has the box - look at the small pics on the side of the box. they made it look like grimlock was taller. bastards. :)

 

seriously though, aside from that, (oh and 4 armed Gestalt mode?) i'm happy with the toys. they have that "Grab me and play with me" feel to them that Energon has in spades.

Not too sure about GRIMMY and SWOOP. I think that if they were a little more BEAST WARS in transformation, looks and stability, I would be sold. I think I'll wait for the TRANSFORMERS GALAXYFORCE/CYBERTRON line for all the Beast goodness...although I am feeling the itch today and might ...stumble into Toys R Us today. I just might see them and get all nostalgic again. :tftongue
