MP Rodimus Prime,version 1.0 & 2.0 differences/fixes thread.

Recommended Posts

I recently bought Takara MP Rodimus Version 2.0,here's the differences I see, since I also own the 1.0 MP Rodimus Takara toy.

I felt the need to buy the 2.0 version because rodimus prime is my all time favorite G-1 persona media chartacter. I don't mind also owning the 1.0 Version because it's not as inferior to the 2.0 version as various fans say it is. the fixes takara made for the 2.0 version are minimal & not as many fixes that most think got made.

I currently have the Takara MP Rodimus Prime version 1.0 on a display shelf in rodimus prime robot mode.

Since I opened, the Version 2.0 Rodimus prime toy to inspect the fixes that takara did to this toy mold. I decided to compare it against the 1.0 version. to see all the fixes takara did on it. they are as follows: (1)the lower legs received a sliding joint thing & ports. (2) the gun & hands have tigher ports,so the gun doesn't fall out of the hands as easily. (3)sadly the yellow car/robot back pack wing received a trimming. so it wouldn't scratch nor rub when going into the trailer. I would have preferred the trailer gaps got widened not the yellow wing get a trim. the 2.0 yellow wing looks more horrible & thinner than the the 1.0 yellow wing. (4) the tabs/ports on the stomach are more tighter. (5)the 2.0 version didn't use the new elbow joints the hasbro version used. which was a good thing considering the hasbro new elbow joints are beyond loose. (6)I didn't notice any color changes from the 1.0 to the 2.0 version. they both appear to use the same colors & same color shades. (7) nothing extra was added, everything inside was indentical to the 1.0 release. (8) the box art on the takara 1.0 & 2.0 are exactly the same. (8) rumor has it the 2.0 & 1.0 have some sort of month/year release on it. like the 1.0 reads 03/2011 while the 2.0 reads 08/2011. since I can't read japanese & theirs so much letters/numbers on the box,I still can't find any of these dates production release info. (9) all the joints & parts on the Takara MP Rodimus Prime version 2.0 felt tighter & stiffer compared to the more loose parts on the 1.0 version. (10) the white rectangular shaped tiny tab that connects the back pack to the robot mode back still doesn't lock in place tightly.
