Fall of Cybertron Drops Co-Op, But Adds More Extensive Multiplayer; Plus Grimlock is Sword and Shield Only Character

Many gamers enjoyed the cooperative portion in Transformers War for Cybertron, but High Moon Studios has decided to strike this feature in Transformers Fall of Cybertron. "It's heartbreaking, I know," Game Director Matt "Tieg" Tieger tells IGN, "but we have a very good reason for that." Instead of a three-character team, each character will be going solo in each board that is specifically crafted to highlight each character's unique ability, going beyond "he's a jet instead of a car," or the typical "can carry heavy weapons." :tfevil Me Grimlock no need gun, me badass!

I'm going to be able to finish the single player story mode in less than a week, aren't I? :tfsad

Hopefully it's longer than DOTM. THAT was short. I feel WFC was decently long.

I didn't play that CO-OP so i don't think i care for that too much.

Sounds like to me that highermoon is getting lazy...

First no PC port...Fine, the first one was crappy because of their incompetency and lack of support. I got a ps3 on black Friday so ill just get the game for it.

But now they are skimping out on the story mode? Sounds like some of the incompetency from the first games pc version is bleeding over. Whats the point of having 3 dinobots if they cannot team up?!

Unless it's an MMORPG the PC market is not what it was back in it's heyday. Simple economics is why they chose not to port. They aren't skimping the story mode they just removed co-op due to the story elements they want to incorporate in a meaningful and successful way. They removed the dinobots teaming up via co-op in favor of the combiners teaming up in a solo player game. Sound like a pretty fair trade since there was almost no one ever playing co-op campaign after the first week in WFC.

But really, if you hate these games and Highmoon so much why bother? Move on to something else you enjoy dude.

News is a couple months old guys.

Reluttr, you know I love you but incompetency? They dropped co-op in favor of a more personal story, as opposed to having 2 buddies run around with you the whole time. Blame Activision for the ports, not High Moon. If Activision wants this game on PC, theyll outsource the port to another dev team while High Moon keeps its sights aimed at FOC. And all the Dinobots appear in the game but only Grimlock is playable for story reasons I'm sure will be explained in the game.

What non-RPG can't you finish in a week? I finished DOTM in an afternoon and Darkness in 2. It's not uncommon to have single player games last 6-8 hours. Its something from this generation of games I can do without, but not much one can do about it.

I've been spoiled by the action-RPG.

Yeah, besides you dont want to play an action shooter for 60 hours. It would get stale and repetitive unless you injected some serious role playing qualities to it, like Mass Effect does.

i've been playing dead island for weeks. i'm ready to finish this game. i've been telling myself for the last two days, "Finish this today" but the game keeps giving me missions! i know there's an option to say no, but i just can't!
