Three Are Better Than One? Take a Look at these Takara, Armada, and Amazon Unicron Comparison Shots

When the Unicron figure was released under the Transformers Armada line way back when, many fans were ecstatic. Since then, the figure has been re-released again by Hasbro under the Transformers Universe line and TakaraTomy repainted the guy and released him under their Welcome to 2010 campaign last year. During BotCon this year, it was revealed that Amazon would receive another redecorated version of the behemoth with the Transformers: The Movie color scheme. Thanks to rampageSSS and ACToys, we have looks at the figure, along with comparisons of the versions to decide whether or not you want to splurge the $60 when the figure hits the online retailer in October. I'm definitely glad I bought the Takara version. it looks much nicer than the Amazon exclusive IMO

Ok I'm skipping Amazon's Unicron, getting the Takara one

Meh, I'm happy with my Armada version

Agreed!

Not that the other dont look nice, but one is enough for me. The details on the second two do not warrant a replacement of the armada version.

Now, had they retooled him a bit more (other than the head) to remove the space for a useless minicon and maybe better feet, I might be a little more interested.

I still love the original G1 paint design on my Takara version, but I'm still grabbing this one for sure. As for the Armada version, I'll probably get it sometime.

I like the Amazon version, and seeing that I own no other Unicrons, it looks like this is the one I'll be getting.

Hmm, not exactly movie colors, but I still like it. I have no other Unicron, and if others can use saving money as an excuse to buy Hasbro's MP Rodimus instead of Takara's, then I'll use it for Unicron. I'll buy the Amazon.com Unicron.

As for the color scheme . . . :schin

Of course! Hasbro decided to use a color scheme that was inspired by the old, G1 prototype Unicron toy. I'm sure that some will dislike this toy even more now, but I think it's an interesting idea.

That Unicron still reminds me of Dr. Robotnik from Sonic The Hedgehog

Geesh, even by G1 standards that is one HORRIBLE toy. :puke
