While aimlessly wandering the lands, I ran across this at the TRU in San Jose:

It includes the BB Bunker playset, Ironhide, Barricade and Crankcase, all redeco'ed. The set was $29.99. Also spied Inferno Rescue Bot on the shelf as well.

What are these "playsets" I'm hearing about? All I keep seeing is just the cardboard backer from inside the package.

The Ark is definitly a playset, but I think the Cyberverse sets (ie Prime w/trailer) are being called playsets by some.

They're called a playset because the Legion figure packed inside also has an accessory that transforms three different ways for different levels of interaction. So you get one background, one accessory and one figure.

They're not always Legion figures packed in. Optimus, Megatron, (and possibly Shockwave, if he gets a stand-alone release), are Cyberverse Commander figures.

I kind of wish Hasbro would put more neutral (and in-scale!) scenes in as the background, instead of the "frozen" explosions. Prime's scene looks more like it's a display box for G.I. Joe scale figures. :lol

That said, I'm not sure I'll get this set. Besides the Ark, most of the "playset" Cyberverse figures are just a bit underwhelming, personally. (which is a shame, cause I was looking forward to the playsets.) I kind of wonder if Hasbro might be willing to dust off some of the G1 Micromaster base molds, or create new G1 base homage-y molds, for Cyberverse.
