Although I sadly can't provide any pictures due to not having a digi cam, not a mobile phone camera since I don't own a mobile phone and my web cam isn't compatible with Windows 7, I might be able to describe how to give Generations Tracks a much better flight mode if anyone hasn't tried it yet. So here goes -

 

1: Make the flight mode shown in the instructions.

 

2: Open the back of the car mode and take out the arms and bring them to the sides of the car mode, tuck the hands in to the side to that you get an angled slope look to them. Flip the rear wheels down once done to give a kind of thrusters look.

 

3: Instead of flipping out the small back tab where the missiles don't clink on well, re-attach them to where they were in alt mode, it's a little fiddly but it can be done.

 

And there you go, give it a try, if anyone is able to provide pictures for people to see then please do. Also if you want a little extra to it, remove Tracks's gun from his back section, flip it out and reattach it on the under carridge.

 

I've got him next to his G1 version and it looks like a very nice update to the flight mode like that,so much better than the lacking 'offical' flight mode.

I didn't do it exactly as you said (I positioned the wheels differently and I left the missles where the official flight mode had them) but I do have a pic somewhere on my computer of my Tracks in flight mode. So hold on a sec, and I'll find it.

I do think that having the arms on the side are a definite improvement. (And proper camera angles help, as well, ha ha. Even with the arms like this, a flat side-on view would not be the most pleasing.)

That looks just as good, for some reason the missiles won't clip onto the back tab like yours can, they keep being prevented from sitting just right due to the shape of the rear section.

 

Being fond of the Back To The Future movies I couldn't resist flipping the back wheels down with him, gives him a kind of Vtol look.
