Classics Police Force...

Decided to finally print up the custom stickers for a few projects and pretty much completed my classics police sunstreaker and clamp down.

I even have the Diaclone Police Sunstreaker on hand that helped me compare.

I do hope our friends from Hasbro make official releases. Until they do, I already have mine.

Ok so what did I do? Spent a good hour using a combination of nail polish remover and paint thinner to remove the hood decal from US Red Alert for the Sunstreaker one, and decided to just paint the other one all black. I did make some racing stripe versions for the hood, but for this model just sticking with solid black. Oh what a aggrivating time it was to remove the red blotches.

Next I did a head swap with a Sunstreaker, have a Tigertracks now and what ever they were calling the police sun streaker in the fan fictions. Have not decided the name yet. Have to be REALLY careful about the springs that make the head spoilers deploy. Mounted it, painted the center of the police lights silver, just like classics Prowl. Did a fist swap with Prowl, hence the correct white colored fists, a little smaller than SS's but works.

Painted the red stripe along the sides and back black, and scraped off the fire chief logo on the doors (for sunstreaker).

Used my archives to pull up scans of the G1 sticker sheets, pulled up some DIaclone and G1 Prowl sheets, figured out the right size reduction for the POLICE door logo and finally grouped everything together to print out on 1 lable sheet. This works really well, a few draw backs though, they fall off if not handled with care, they can stain so watch the fingers and I have to cut them out by hand. But being able to make my own decals is just fun.

Clampdown I just placed the door stickers (90% reduced from the regular Prowl scans) to cover up the FIRE Chief, looks good and can't see through it thankfully. Police license plate for the back is Prowl's with no change in size.

Now, the original Diaclone Sunstreaker police car does not have any of the blue police shields, as Powl and Clamp do. So I improvised and think it works really well. I kinda forgot I left the chest autobot symbol on clamp's hood, so the arm logo might be a bit much.

My favorite bit, the alternative leg conversion. Swap the upper legs so that it can be positioned as shown. The loovers become the front or shins instead of the sides like SideSwipe. I did this trick with the yellow Sunstreaker and will with the future Red Version (maybe a black sunstreaker too some day...) The feet don't work 100% like this though, either have to shave part of the white bit or part of the black foot bit. Or else let the bot walk like a duck with feet out in a V. Makes Sunstreaker look so much different than Sideswipe this way, and if you look at the comparrison, looks a lot more like the original.

So there you have it, classics Police Clamp Down and Sunstreaker. As luck would have it, just got Tracks and Jazz to they have someone to give speeding tickets to.
