Recently looked at the energon SS. and he looks alot like the G2 Smokescreen that came with the Dreadwing stealth bomber/tank triple changer that I baught oh so long ago. Anyone else think that is kinda a cop-out?

The one on the right isn't smokescreen but a recolor of him.

He isn't a copout. He doesn't share one single part with G2 SS. He is a totally new bot. He only shares the transformation scheme, and if that's a crime, then a lot of TFs are guilty.

Well he looks a little bit like him. But he's bigger and has those big Seekers wings. Lots of jets look kinda alike. Not big deal. I love my E: Starscream. I keep hearing that he's a ghost in energon? Is this true? I just thought he got a new body. Can't wait for him to show up in the Cartoon/Book. Anyone know when he might?

Yes, Starscream (called "Nightscream") in Japan is a kind of "Ghost". He can become invisible and is almost a ghost...

Ack, sheesh, well I just thought it was kinda disapointing to see them use the bones of an older model for a newer one. I don't care about the recoloring, but it just seemed like they were running out of ideas.
