I have been looking around every once in a while for a VCD or DVD set of the Headmasters (and later Japanese) episodes from G1. Back when the internet was new and I finally found the full details on the Japanese cartoon, I got a few of them dubbed poorly from Star TV. They were terrible so I didn't bother getting more. Someone suggested that I skip the english dubbed episodes and buy the Japanese-language episodes subtitled.

Is there even a set of them subtitled in english on VCD or DVD? I'm beginning to think this hasn't happened.

The reason that I don't want to wait for Rhino is that I'm not convinced it is happening and because I am most of the way through the Rhino G1 DVDs and won't want to stop there.

I have seen every episode of the US cartoon plenty of times. But I'd like to bypass Rebirth this time and go on to the Japanese series instead. If anyone can point me in the right direction or even lmk if there ever has been a subtitled set, I would really appreciate it.

I have the Japanese Headmaster series and i must say...

GET IT :)

**i have a englished dubbed version....(i have yet to see a true subtitle)

if you have never seen any Japanese TF eps...this is a MUST

not only is it a completly different take than the US, but TF that normaly would never get screen time are popin up all over the place...

ie the Duacons, combiners EVERywhere

plus the ultimate fight between Blaster(Billy in Japan ??- i never understood that one) and Soundwave...

also the DEath of UltraMagnus(and No he dosnt come back)

**sorry to spoil it, but its part of my fave eps in the Headmaster series.

**just my 2 cents

Headmasters was resently reliese on DVD in Japan, if it is like Moast Animie DVD's it has Subtitals.

BTW, Blasters Jap name was Broadcast, Star TV just screwed that up.....BIGTIME!!!

What's the deal with Region differences? I heard they don't much matter anymore. Maybe I could get the Japanese DVD and play it in my Samsung player?

They really should release this dubbed over here, with the proper characters' voices.

So after looking through several sets of Headmasters videos, I saw some that claimed to be dubbed, but not from Star TV. Are there two sets of dubs for these? What about Masterforce and Victory?

A few characters were called Billy in that series. I believe Blurr was also called Billy at times. It was a good series.

What episode did the DuoCons appear in? I don't remember seeing them.

Actually Blurr is refered to as Wally, still no clue to as why.

And Metroplex is called Philip.

And Metroplex is called Philip.

:rofl

I would love to see these episodes someday, just to see what all the fuss is about.
