I think it´s a case by case thing when it somes to fraud. In this case it´s not like they´re scamming millions out of a company, so they may get a slap on the wrist. I con´t see the guy getting years of jail time for swapping out Ironhides TBH :shrug

I think its the same guy doing it in all of North America. He's like the criminal mastermind of the TF world.

This happened a lot when RID was new too. I still remember hearing about Cryoteks being returned with the wrong toys in them.

I don't think they can do anything to the guy since the Walmart Employees already accepted the figures back.

Actually, since they took it back the fraud cycle was completed. The variable would be whether they employees knew that what they took back was the wrong item. If they knew, then Walmart could technically fire them for fraud. If the employees didn't know, then the customer who returned them is the target.

Someone on Craigslist tried to defraud me out of my desktop last year by passing (3) phony $800 money orders. Police said that since I didn't cash the money orders, the fraud cycle was broken and they had no legal recourse. Lucky for me I hadn't shipped the desktop yet.

Interesting, though I still think the employees should be fired for pure stupidity

You ain't kidding! I once returned an Animated Starscream with two left thumbs, & said figure sat for over a year on the shelf! When I returned it, I informed the Wal*Mart employee of the defect!

Actually, I also remember when people were finding returned Alternators that had non-transforming cars or models inside. That was pretty ingenious, yet still illegal.

FAct of the matter is this Walmart and Kmarts and Targets don't care if this is happening. That loss Prevention guy was just Blowing smoke up your wahoo. To be honest those Loss Prevention guys make Jokes about about people like that. "HAH he was complaining over a Bleeping Toy. What a Fool"

I have heard it.

They take the toy to the back place it on a shelf to return to the manufacturer. Heck you may even see it back on the Toy shelf. They are there to make money. Either by selling it to saps like us or sending it back to get credit from Hasbro. Sometimes you may even see the thing put on clearance. As for that defective thing. I have seen Walmart employees take those toys rip off those tags and place them back on the shelf. As for the guy thats acting like the Dark crusader hey man there's more important stuff to worry about then if these mega stores get their whooping 20 to 50 bucks. You know the money they make in oh 5 mins. Just do what I do put the toy up on an area where a small kid can't reach it or if a kid has it tell his Parent hey thats not the right toy.
