Firstly, I've been a long time member of unofficial TF fan clubs too, such as the Transmasters, which goes back to the 80's. I enjoy fan clubs and an officially sanctioned one is just plain neat for me, specially after going a long time without Hasbro recognizing this here fandom for the most part.

 

To be honest, if it was cheaper, would you join?

 

I remember Transmasters ,myself. As far as officially sanctioned ones? heh not interested mainly because you have to pay and don't get much in return. As far as Hasbro not recognizing the Fandom?

 

1) They still don't Arcee, Elita One, and many others are proof of that

2) I remember a Convention I went to in 1999. Hasbro had a panel and someone asked a question about Optimus Prime. The panel looked dumbfounded then one of them asked Which toy was that one again

3) They still have Archer on the payroll making decisions that are pissing off the majority of the Fandom

 

I would pay $1 for a lifetime memborship

Actually they did give us a date late January to early February of 2010. Then they back tracked saying that code they needed to make was put on hold for Botcon but to expect it right after botcon. Still waiting? So why try to pass an auction site as a positive if

1. It doesn't exist

2. You don't do auction sites?

 

Yeah another false promise from the club. Hey next up we can talk about the yearly collectors club member card........ Oh yeah thats right they stopped that. But you can print it from online. Except that it erases the lowercase looping letters like g,y,p and others. But hey atleast they are giving us that. I mean honestly how many people actually use those letters in their names. Oh wait thats right I do. Dang I guess Im out of luck.

Ok, I was wrong about the date then. Must have missed when they gave it a date. They have their reasons for the delay, whatever. Oh yeah, your questions.

2. I don't bother with them, but others do. So I see this as a neat thing to offer whenever it gets running. See, I'm not just thinking about myself here. It's going to be a members only auction site, so perhaps some of the crap that goes on at ebay wont be a problem. What's wrong with that?

 

Your really reaching now, just because its not available asap, doesn't make it a false promise. Just be patient, after all, it's not really a focal point of the club. Just an additional add on. Your also bringing up the cards... seriously? Did you carry the membership card with you or something? It was what... printed on the bio card for the toy? We still got the bio card right? But your concerned over the membership card. I wasn't aware that the online thing didn't work well, did you point that out to them? As in write them an email? Honestly, if it was that big of a deal to have a printed membership card, just photoshop your name on it. Hell, you can do that with paint.

 

Really, your not answering the question I asked you. Your obviously not happy with the club, so why would you bother with it? Are you asking for somebody to give you a solid reason? Or are you just that unhappy? If so, just don't rejoin anymore. Problem solved.

So when someone proves you wrong they must be reaching? Hmm as for why I joined the club its in the post above. You just failed to read it. All Im saying is why even make a promise of things if they don't have the way to do it. Im sure they knew Botcon was coming before hand. Why promise the auction site if they weren't ready? Oh and I did email about that printable them several times. they said they would look into it. That was Feb. Its now Sept and still nothing. And yes it is something promised by the club so yes I expect it. And you have yet to answer my answer about the auction site you stated earlier that they gave us. Where is the link? I mean if you did write this:

"And now MP has been turned into an members only auction site, which you get membership by being a member. You may chose not to use it, but you do get that."

So when was it turned?

How did you prove me wrong? I admitted to being wrong on the date, but really, how did you saying it doesn't exist and me saying it's on it's way consist of anything other than not agreeing? Really dude, just because it's not here yet, doesn't mean they have no way of doing it. Your just going to have to be patient about it. I know it sucks since you obviously would like it, but what alternative do you have? Other than not renewing or using ebay? I cannot point you to it, because it isn't up yet. How do you expect me to? They really should have placed a Under Construction page or something with the url. As of right now, the url goes to a page from the place holder page from the web hosting company. But since you expect something more from me, here is the whois on the domain right here. As you can see Brian Savage owns the domain, it isn't currently pointed to anything as of now. The MP magazine was turned into an auction site, regrettably they haven't launched that site just yet.

 

Now your issue with the card, well thats a bummer dude. You've spoken with them, and I'm sure eventually it will get fixed. Until then, why not just print the card from any photo software?

 

Now my question was not why you joined the club, if you would have read it, it is why do you stay with it if your not happy with it? Is it really the auction site? Because I'm sure you can join it without being in the club. You said you joined for the freebie figure, but you are not satisfied with the figure. So why renew if your not going to be happy? IF anything, I'm pretty sure you could get the figure for the $40 on ebay without the club.

 

I'm satisfied with my membership, and have been since I joined when it launched. You say it's not a good idea to express my happy infomercial like views (dude, I have a different opinion than you, it'll be ok) in a thread where folks are unhappy with the club. Not buying as much as we were. Even though Archer is indirectly but directly involved in designs but has final say as the lead design directer.

Interesting, I never heard about this. I'd really hope they were trying to make a joke.

We'll there has been a bunch of dissatisfaction with the movie emphasis in the toy line in the fandom, but it's still selling well. Pretty much Archer has come on board, the line has sold well. For Hasbro, that means he's doing a good job.

 

No kidding, I see those 99 cent bottles of Coke at the store and get mad at how small they are. If I can still get all that Faygo for around 60 cents, Coke can work with me here :P
