Hunt for the Decepticons Battle Blade Bumblebee

Recommended Posts

Hi there, so I use to frequent these boards a lot, but for some reason I jut... stopped. Not even sure why seeing how everyone was always so nice. Anyway, I decided to come back. And with a custom!! Anyway, I got myself an extra Hunt for the Decepticons Battle Blade Bumblebee so I could mod him all sorts of crazy. First what I did was removed the upper fenders from the hood and glued them onto the rest of the fenders. I wanted to just have them swing the doors into the middle of the figures back. Well, once I glued the fenders together, I realized that the back portions of the hood were in the way.. So, what I ended up having to do was cut the hood parts off, and glue those onto the central hood piece that is connected to the windshield. Once I did that, I already had it in my head that I wanted to cut the hinge pieces that the doors swung on off of the fenders. Once I did that, I glued them into place. Now that they were free, I wasn't sure what to use to get them to be a part of the rest of the figure again.. What to do, what to do... Started looking at certain figures, and I realized that the arms from the RotF Legends Wheelie figure had exactly what I wanted, and through a LOT of trial and error. I finally, after going through 4 wheelies, for new swing arms that allow the door wings to move in just about any direction that I want them to. Now, the mods STILL aren't done, and I am sending the base figure out to an acquaintance to help me out with some more mods. He will be adding a hinge and a ball joint to the windshield. The hinge will be at the seam of the hood, and the ball joint will be near the center of the central hood piece. This will hopefully, lol, allow the windshield to flod down into BB's back, and the hood piece to rotate around and sit flush against the torso. One other mod that he will be doing for me is going to be to make the rear hood become the smaller lower wings on BB's back. He has already done the mods to his own BB, and will be adding a ball joint to the hinge of the rear hood section so that it can spin around so that the lower wings will sit properly. While the figure is out, I will be doing some body work to the fenders and doors to make everything seamless. Until then here are some pictures of what I have done thus far!! Constructive Criticism is welcome. IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK ALL!!Picture071-1.jpgPicture070-1.jpgPicture067-1.jpgPicture073-1.jpgPicture074-1.jpg

Looking great! My biggest complaint about the figure is the way the hood slants down in robot mode. This looks much better.

I'm also painting some details on mine, but I wish I had the same paint you do!

:wave That paint is available to anyone on TCPGlobal.com I believe the website is. Can't wait to see what yours looks like :)
