Best and Worst so far

Best:

Megatron. Hands down the best.

Omega Supreme. OS is actually a homage to some toylines like Macross and Brave.

Mid:

Mirage.

Optimus Prime. Normal mode sucks, combined mode much better.

Worst:

Prowl. He's an oversized minicon. And after seeing pictures of the Takara Red alert's(Prowl's Jap Name) powerlink 'pants' mode, I can only say that I don't like where his head so visibly ends up in.

On the SL side of toys,

Best:

Nightscream. Starscream's Jap counterpart is waaaay cooler than E-SS due to the fact that the gray plastic looks a helluva lot better than the baby blue used on the Hasbro version.

Rodimus, the next best homage, second only to Wingsaber in that department.

Mid:

-Wingsaber. It's an awsome homage. Is a brick in normal mode. WOWEEE! in combined mode with Grand Convoy.

-Galvatron

Worst:

Kicker. I've said it a thousand times and I'll say it again. He's too fragile for anything else besides MISB.

I was to say Prime as the worst, but after handling the Ebay 'Powerlinx' version I warmed up to him, despite the fact that in his normal mode he evokes the image of the stereotypical oversized bumbling war general in movies, games and anime. I also can't see the logic behind a black fire engine(OP drone).

And another note, my main gripe with Energon/SuperLink toy design is that they are sacrificing too much of the normal mode's general aesthetic, features and functionality for the 'Powerlink' combiner gimmick. Even the minicon team Perceptor, which individually look worse than McDo Happy Meal toys yet look awesome combined, suffer greatly as a result of that.
