KO Nemesis Commander + Magnus KO vs the real deal.

I know it's kinda been done, but not to the extent that I would have liked.

Here's a comparison between a KO Shadow Commander armor set + a KO Classics Magnus vs the real thing.

What my intention was to buy up 4 KO classics truck cabs to wear the armor sets so I could display the powered up version AND the real cab robots at the same time. What I found out is that it's not as fantastic as I had hoped.

First off, the KO Armor set. It's pretty good, but for the money I would strongly suggest the real deal. The only reason I bought the KO AND the Real thing was that I have a custom paint job in store for the KO. Later.

The benefits. If you go the route of the KO armor, you will get an authentic boxed set for probably 1/2 the price of the real thing. It features almost the same box, artwork, instructions and accessories. I will have to get the real box out of storage and compare but I think the color was wrong. It fully transforms and will merge with any of the Classics Magnus molds.

The draw backs. Since it's a KO, it's not as precise as the real thing, especially in the shoulders. Attached to the real cab toy the shoulders are loose and can fall off with ease. The legs are a little harder to attach, most difficult is the cod piece, which just snaps on the real thing, very hard to do with the KO. The joints do not meet properly in a lot of instances, especially with the HUGE gun, you can see in the side by side photo when folded in gun mode the KO does not close with out help and the locking piece, the real thing drops into place. The sword is warped, as you can see in the pict (my link) what else is there to say about that, battle of the bent sword, sounds like a bad kung-fu movie.

MORE Drawbacks, this is the bit you might not know. Using the KO cab with the KO Trailer, mounts are even worse. Shoulders will fall off with a small breeze, the gauntlets also have a hard time staying on, need to really adjust the arm flaps to hold it in place. Cod, chest and legs work ok. To make matters worse, especially in the shoulders the KO cab bot will simply not keep his arms raised. The remainder are loose but ok, speaking mainly as a display point of view. Also some of the features are dulled, will have to take a close up of the bot face but the cab bot seems dulled, faceplate rounder than the real deal.

I bought the Magnus KO because for what ever reason they painted the chest blue, which interested me as I like the Diaclone Blue version of Prime so much (made a custom already thought this might be better, nope).

IF you are starting out with the classics collection, and IF you can not find a reasonably priced Nemesis Prime, you could go get the KO and the KO armor, but there really isn't anything like the real thing!

SO, what did I learn?

I learned that if I want to spend another $36 or so for 3 more KO Classics Cab Bots, I had better use some tape or other armor attaching reinforcement for the display.

I learned that the KO armor has a warped sense of humor, several times trying to attach the cod piece to the real nemesis cab it would pop off annoyingly.

I learned that $82 for a KO armor set towards a future custom paint job is a tad crazy... still gonna love it! (PM Prime shall live!)

Don't get me started on PE-01. 2 Left feet and I don't think I have yet to attach it to Nemesis.
