War for Cybertron G1 style

Recommended Posts

Ok, i am oh so tempted to get a PS3 just for this game. I have been holding out with the Wii......but Dammit, this does look good. I know its an old trailer, but the usage of the G1 voices and sounds makes me want to get the full experience of this game!

Those G1 sounds were added by a fan. The actual game doesn't have them, although it should.

I know, that's why I said "I know its an old trailer."

You know, the fact that the G1 voices seem so *right* when paired with this trailer just goes to show you how awesome the WFC designs are. Yeah, they're new designs, but this feels like the G1 game we've always dreamed of.

WoW...that was Awesome the only way we would get a G1 sounded game as far as voices goes would be if the story line was exactly like one of the episodes.

If you notice, even though it is Peter Cullen as the voice of OP, there isn't any metallic sound in his voice when he plays the OP in MBFormers. His voice has a cleaner tone and a more gentle mood to it. The tone is most likely due to the better recording quality that we have now(or there was effects added to his vocie back then that aren't now).

And the gentle mood is there because I guess of MB Direction or Cullen has forgotten what OP is suppose to sound like. When you compare the voices now to back then you can tell them a part easily.

Once again thumbsup1.gif Awesome!!

I like Cullen's current Prime voice better than his original "John Waynelike" cowboy Prime form the 80's. I don't think its about Cullen "forgetting" how to voice Prime, he is just 25 years older. He sounds better.

Unlike Frank Welker, Cullen's Prime voice aged pretty good, while Welker's Megatron voice aged badly. I hate the way Welker's Megatron sounds like today. Just sounds horrible, so unlike his 1980's voice.

Age was another possible factor I meant to add there. I guess I do like the John Wayne like Cowboy Prime.

I watched an interview with Cullen where when he went for the audition or first reading for Prime he came up with a voice that was More Cowboyish...That is how he got the extra roll of voicing Ironhide.

If I had to pick between Cullen and Gary Chalk(Optimus primal & OP for AEC) to voice for the MBFormer movies I'd go with Chalk, cause he sounded better at being gentle and honorable(cause that is how OP sounds in the movies). If you notice...Cullen's voice is the only voice that sounds "human" there's no metallic echo sound that you hear from the others. They(MB) are giving Cullen's voice special treatment cause he's the original voice of OP.

And Welker's Megatron voice has only been used in the first moive game and everyonce in a while on Robot Chicken and Family Guy...it's still the voice of Megatron, I think it still sounds good.
