Transformers Fans a decade ago

I was 15 years old, was still in high school and I know I was collecting some of the Beast Wars stuff; I loved the show but a lot of the toys weren't all that spectacular. In my opinion anyway. I know I had the Transmetal Cheetor and the Prowl Owl-I was a sucker for any bot named Prowl since there was really no Prowl after G1.

I had the PC version of Beast Wars as well and fooled around with that in Single player but I didn't have a great internet back then...... I was lucky if it ever worked long enough for me to play Jedi Knight...... I was never able to have a massive collection of toys by any means but I got what I liked. Had a kinda strange home life---who doesn't though, right?--- so I wasn't really encouraged to get a job, not becuase we didn't need the money but because my grandparents---who raised me--- didn't want me to be self-reliant. 'sighs' Anyhew. Anything I got was from my dad or my brothers.

Time freaking flies man. I'm 25 now and working on a degree in Psychology and am still a crazed TF fan. Though I snatch up as much as I can comic wise, I generally only buy the toys that I like. I do plan on getting Rodimus and Arcee from Animated though whenever they wind up coming out.

I did not know about Transformers untill 2005; when they frist showed Transformers Cybertron on Kids WB at 4:30 on weekdays, it was a door to new world. It was cool to have both an action firgure and a car all in 1 toy (and it still dose). The fist one I opened was Leobreaker in Chrismas 05.Boy, Boy, in 5 years I shure know alot about Transformers.

Holy Poop. My first MISB TF was G1 Rachet when I was 8

Much time has passed, though not much have changed.... for me, that is. :P

I was 28/29, working a job I HATED :fire , looking for alternatives to Transformers (was not into BM, bought some Vehicons, though ), thrilled to know Gundam Wing would be aired on US TV :yay . Can't remember much actually. These are the only relevant things I could think of.

ten years ago I was 22,.and was ,.actually can't remember about what all i was doing,.I know there were a hand full of friends I made back then and I could drink and smoke and stuff,.um,.cant remember if there was any TFS i bought at that time,.

I was in Boy Scouts. I was a tenderfoot and had just gotten my Totenchip. I only ever had one corner cut off and I cut it off myself (a friend walked into my blood circle when I was making a walking stick and I slipped with the knife and got him in the arm).

I wasn't really into Transformers back then. For some reason I compared it to whatever horrible Power Ranger TV show was out back then. How stupid I was.

Well, I was 2 and just watched my first ep. of transformers, I think it was R.I.D.. Well I really enjoyed it and have been collecting, hitting the books on, staying informed on, and loving transformers since. ;)

Hmm I had just graduated 6 months before, and was still working at Klien's Super Markets till Jan '01. Then I left there, and went to Royal Farms. Then a couple of temp jobs, and finally my current employer Rite Aid (my first job making over $8.50 p/h at $12 p/h) My oldest son was 2 1/2 in 2000, and already getting into Beast Wars, and other super heroes. While my daughter was just a couple of months old. I wasn't collecting anythingas I didn't really didn't see anything out there that caught my eye. DBZ was all just re-engineered Bandai figs, Beast wars was a neat show but the idea of animals turning into robots was odd to me, and the majority of superhero figs were just really lacking. I suppose you could say I was collecting through my son since he had pretty much all of the JLA figures, and a few Beast wars TMs. It was in June of 2000 that I bought my oldest son his first big TF OPOP, and he still has most of him (just missing the shields, missiles, and guns). Even the Marvel Legends didn't interest me enough to get them for me but my son liked them so I got them for him.

It really wasn't until 3 years later at the end of 2003 that I started buying stuff for myself (Oh what a mistake that was :tflaugh ). It all started w/ Alt Smokescreen just the thought that a TF could have all of the interior of a real car just blew my mind. From there it has just snow balled. I still can't believe that my 150+ TF collection has built up over just 6 1/2-7 years with Smokescreen, Sideswipe, and 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime (my 19th birthday present from my wife way back when she didn't mind so much. Now she wants me to get rid of them all). 20 Alternators later, and we never got a Megatron man I'm still pissed about that. Then in '06 we got the line that I had really wanted since I was a kid the Classics line. I had to have all of them. (Please Hasbro bring the CL/U 2.0 line back!) Then around the beginning of last year they stopped putting out new U 2.0 figures, and with little interest in the RoTF figs I've been picking up the MU, DcUIH, and GI Joes, and recently picked up a few Star wars figs (due to the 2 for 1 packs). I'm still checking out the TFs but I think I'll just wait until TFU 3.0 starts up. Though I'm super hyped for The War For Cybertron game, coming out in June, and the Cybertronian mode figures that it will bring.

This time ten years ago, I was a year out of college, not thinking about Transformers, struggling with a very destructive depression that kept building, until I finally came to terms with what was causing the main issue behind it over a year ago, and doing all I could to keep busy while struggling with coming to terms, still, with being barred from working due to my disability and employers being scared to hire me because of that and the worries of law suits in case my disability caused anyone any harm in the work place.

So I just did my best to keep busy while dealing with my depression. Didn't begin returning to Transformers until almost two years later.

Wow, a decade ago :schin What was I doing back then???

I was 14, so I was still in secondary school, didn't have much money to spend on toys, but realy wanted to colect TFs

I remember one of the most painfull ties was when I went to a carboot sale to seel off some stuff with my dad, and made a fair bit of money. One of my classmates, who allways picked on me and gave me shit had a table literally right accross from me...FULL of G1 figures. Only thing is I didn't buy any cause I knew he'd tel everyone that I still played with toys, which when you're a kid, it hurts to have the piss taken out of you.

Finished secondary school and immediately got a temp xmas job at my local TRU, and once money started coming in I started exploring ebay and buying up lots. This was back when ebay was decent and not full of shithead sellers.

Then when I hit 18, me, my parents and younger sister moved from the UK to Spain (luckily there's a TRU near by), and the collection's been steadily growing ever since. I must say, the past 5 years or so of collecting have been the absolute best though. With all the different series of figures coming out, and the fact that I can afford a ot of them for the most part now.

So, that's basically my last decade of colecting. :thumb Here's to another! :beer

10 years ago.... I was dealing with the fall-out of having ALL of my G1 and BW toys stolen from me by my own mother! (along with everything else, she is an abusive druggy, don't ask) It was a very dark time for me, but then I got some good people to hang out with and then started gaming in all forms. I got a job at toys r us, then started my collection over again with BM...... but thats another story al together
