Wanting to re-paint X-Brawn/Ratchet

Not sure if I can ask for help here, but on the figure, is there anyway to get the windsheild/roof part piece off of his back without breaking it?

 

If anyone can help, it's very appreciated!

 

My plan is for a black scheme with flames, kinda to make him even more evil looking (IMO, he is fairly evil looking )

Well, I'm not sure, because I don't have the figure in front of me. However, I know that you can pop out Ratchet's sunroof using your finger nails..... I think there may be a screw under that that will allow you to detach it.

Yup, like SkyQuake said, just remove the sunroof by getting underneath the front and back of it (the sides have the pegs that hold it in place). The roof can then be unscrewed and removed, piece of cake.

you could soak it in hot water to loosen it up possibly....

So now he's painted black, though I need to touch up some spots.....

There are two clip taps that hold the sun roof on the top. Use a small screw driver to pop the taps out them you will see a screw in the shaft that holds the windshield on the figure remove it and you are in business. :thumb

Well, here he is in black:

 

 

 

 

Flames to come soon, probably...

 

But as to details: All of the inside is flat black, while the outside is obviously gloss black.... Also did the headlights and door handles to add detail.

 

It's kinda tough to brush paint gloss, but I think I got it ^__^ Once he's 100% done, I'll get better pictures

Yea that definately worked nicely to subdue it and bring out the other colers

Good job!.... I was thinking of painting Universe Ratchet the way is on the back of the box with more details.... I haven't had time.
