My boy LOVES cars so a BB before he even knows what Transformers are isn't forcing anything on him :) Keeping him away from my Transmetal Megatron is the problem... He's only 2, so a toy's a toy to him so far.

 

He can like Barbie's for all I care, I will support anything he is into no matter how strange. So far he "just says no" to Smurfs, but he luvs those Disney movies with the talking dogs. Doesn't even pay attention to the TV when I'm watching Transformers or Clone Wars toons.

 

Now if he wanted some new Hot Wheels and I said NO and threw him a Legends BB, which he likes cause it's a car NOT a robot, THAT would be forcing my likes on him. Plus if he doesn't want the SDCC Soundwave or TRU Insecticons that I got him for future gifts (when he does know them & want em') guess what... More Decepticon fun for me !!!

I only was mentioning this cuz i have this problem. Your post in the other thread made me think about it (this is a good thing Only thing is, the first MOVIE at all my boy and I watched the whole thing together *in other words yhe couldnt stand to sit through any other full movie*) was Transformers 1 live action! He was 2. And he LOVED :animated at 3 & 4 (hes 4 now) but i have felt lately that he needs to like his own things. And not just follow daddy. Even know how appealing it can be to me.

Hey you may be a way better dad than I am, I'm just buying now for the future.

 

I'm keeping him on track right now with Disney & other toddler shows, I'm sure he'll catch on to what dad likes soon enough (he loves the Star Wars music but gets frightened by monsters & fights so he doesn't pay attention to Clone Wars yet) and I'll have a couch buddy while I'm watching "my" stuff. But I've got toons & toys from the 70's up to now so he'll have everything to choose from.

 

I'm sure Robots will be a big part of that so it would be strange if many of my likes didn't rub off during the next few years. So I'm gonna try my best not to encourage just to supply many flavors. Dinosaurs should be next...

 

If he wants Transformers in the future we may still have different toys if he prefers Autobots cause I'm a Con man !!!

that seems all too possible! hmmm... the movies raped peoples childhood much like "Voltron the third demention" did! So..... anyone want to take bets on when voltron gets the "awsome" touch-up from bay? :P

 

Theres a lot less to screw up with Voltron as far as I'm concerned. Bay I don't think could screw it up. It's just FIVE main characters, who are about due for an update anyways (not like Voltron gets as many facelifts as TFs) and there are 5 colored coded LIONS.

 

But then again leave it to Bay to add 12 unnecessary characters, a pointless side-plot to do with living computer viruses, a stupid brunette and instead of RoBeasts they'll be saving the world from a living asteroid or some garbage like in the 5th Element. (not that I don't like 5th Element). Also, he would probably include an extra Lion, an Eagle, a Walrus and a Sports Car to the main Voltron team.
