Some Transformers Art

Recommended Posts

Hi there, this is my first post here in Transformers Community. (Hopefully not my last!) I've been a big Transformers fan for years, and I'm happy to find this forum where I can bounce my ideas and thoughts and whatnot off fellow fans.

I thought I'd offer two pictures I recently drew and then edited with Photofiltre. It's strictly amateur-level stuff, I'm making no claims it's professional. It's certainly not as good as a lot of the stuff I've seen on here so far. Feel free to critique or comment. Thanks in advance! :con

The first is a "classic" Shockwave.

And this one is a re-conceptualization of Ravage; I felt the bike form is more appropriate than a cassette or a robot form, and the dark colors and more feline appearance fit him better than the version in the last movie (which still rocked BTW).

Nice work - Ravage is my fav TF altogether and have thought of him as a bike before :) would be the perfect desguise for him, fast and stealthy. Maybe if clean up w/ straighter lines, otherwise looks good to me. Especially like the "clear parts". Keep up w/ the work.

Hi, thanks for your reply. :wave

Ravage is one of my all-time faves and it doesn't surprise me someone else thought of a bike mode for him -- it fits so well IMO. (What does surprise me is Hasbro hasn't done a toy like that, but eh.) If I revamp Ravage, I'll smooth out his appearance a little. I tried to model his bike and jaguar forms around the Kawasaki Ninja. I briefly entertained the thought of giving him a Jaguar XJ form -- so he'd transform from a jaguar into a Jaguar, haha -- but I still think a bike suits him better.

I admit I like the transparency effect too. Here's how I managed it. I selected those areas of Shockwave and replaced the black lines with a purple/pink, filled the areas with color, then gradually blurred the selection until I got the picture I wanted. I plan to do some more pictures and use that effect.

Just curious, I noticed you too had a Geocities site. (Points to your .sig image.) Did you manage to back it up or move it before the apocalypse? (Thanks for that BTW, Yahoo.)

Thanks about the sig -and yeah... I broke down and bought my site address. Had geocities for years.. but oh well.. least now it dosnt go down if I update and people check it out :tflaugh check these out:

Oh wow, you did those? Very good work. :) You obviously know what you're doing, so I may ask you for art tips from time to time. Or maybe even commission stuff if you're up to it; I have a project going you may be interested in. (Or maybe notm)

I had a Geocities site, mostly game stuff. But yeah, Geocities was kinda stingy with the bandwidth. It would go down when only a few people visited. One thing that helped a lot was storing my images offsite (Photobucket), as they'll eat up bandwidth like mad. I have my own domain now with more bandwidth, but I still store my images elsewhere just to be safe; I display a lot of 'em on my site.

Geocities sucked. But it makes me sad how it went down.

Thanx... I didnt draw the TFs.. just edited the artwork I found (markerguru is an awsome artist btw). I'm always messing w/ artwork everyday - that and I run a sign shop - check my site out sometime.
