Has it ever bothered any one as a kid or recently that Shockwave doesn't have a real face? He just has a light bulb for a grill.

Shockblast's head looks like either a portable vacuum or an alien laser gun

I mentioned that in a transformers facial hair thread.

and the answer is because G1 is a hodgepodge of pre-existing toys so even though he looks like a dork, he is a fan fav and the homage with a face in no homage at all

I like his "face". Or lack thereof. It gives him a unique look, and that's a good thing.

It does look like a dust buster, but not very far removed from a Robotech face.

But I like it, you know why because it looks good.

That was my thread, it was mentioned somewhere else!... Cool. Anyway, He looks cool with that one glowing menacing eye, besides, it's better to have no face than no head.

he has one of the most distinctive (SP Check) faces in the transformers universe... I now understand why my dad hated "newer" bubblie, rounded, Plastic Cars in the 90s and I loved them... I had no respect for the past...

oh papa.. if only you were here to see that I finally understand... wait hes not dead yet... I'll call him later.. but he will probably just yell at me about something like not cutting the grass at my own house....

old GEEZER!

I didn't even think of the Robotech but he does look like those guys.

Exactly what I was gonna say. Shocky was supposed to be the cold, calculating type. What better way to personify that than with a face that has no feature other than one robotic eye? Different=teh good.
