Found P38 toy

Recommended Posts

At the Flea Mart today, I found an odd P38 toy. It's not all that odd that it's the gun the Original Megatron transformed into, the odd part was what I found inside.

This gun is very authentic to a real Walters, the clip slides out (odd that it is, does not hold projectiles, have not really figured it out) the gun's slide is spring loaded and can pull back, the safety works(d) and the trigger pull(ed).

When I bough it, it was broken, I only really wanted it to be a replica of the real gun that the real Megatron changes into, so it really didn't matter. I took it apart to see if it could be repaired or at least rig the trigger to work, but inside I found 8 small metal ball bearings, each with a thin line around them with the letter P in the center. At first I thought that maybe these actually fired out of the gun when it was working properly, but then after I put it back together I simply tried to put one of the balls down the barrel and it will not fit. So I'm thinking maybe these were meant to be for balance? Makes little sense.

I looked around Ebay, LOTS of authentic METAL replicas of the gun, but no plastic toys like this.

Anyone have a clue on this thing? There is no copy on the gun, just authentic etchings and 'Japan'. No date or manufacturer.

Funny thing was, my nephews were over and I broke out the Bulls Eye Ball mini skiball game, these ballbearings are smaller but make a nice replacement for the ones that got lost under the sofa...

I guess its some kind of air pistol.

Looks like a Hop-Up lightweight plinker gun. Try putting a BB into the MAGAZINE and then cocking and firing the gun.
