At least one mold of every Armada/Micron Legend, Energon/Super Link, Robotmasters, all Takara TF Collection reissues and Binaltech. I would also get a lot of cool repaints, and some selected RIDs, TFUs and some toys from the older lines.

I'm not as much of a completist as I used to be. Normally I'll just grab new molds from the main line, and some of the better looking repaints in Universe.

 

Plus all the Alts.

I try to be a completionist... but I tend to fall short due to lack of funds or lack of finding them... or if my anime obbsession interfears ::Looks at hundreads of dvds which could have been hundreads of transformers:: Curse you anime and your coolness!!

I started late in the collecting game, about the time when TRU reissue Ultra Magnus came out, so I started with him. (My orignal collection was long gone form my childhood years...) With only a few exceptions, I've tried to stick to completing my Gen 1 pre-movie collection first, then I'll move on to the post-movie and maybe a few G2 if the repaint schemes are cool. (Like the black Sideswipe...) Of course, Alternators/Binaltech and 20th Ann. Prime had to jump the line, cause they just plain rock! But anyway, I'm a Trailbreaker, Ratchet, and the Decepticon cassettes away from moving on to the post-movie era of G1, so it'll be quite some time before you see me with any Energon TF's in my basket, unless I'm X-mas shopping, or I happen to stumble across an Arcee. ;) Oh, and yes, I know that Magnus was technically post-movie, but he is bad ass, and was one of the ones I always wanted as a kid and never got. If Magnus wasn't re-released when he was, I may have never even started collecting again!

i buy whatever i think is cool.

Mainly old G1 stuff, the newest figures i have are a multi colour landfill, and the armada unicron.

 

other than that - combiners and certain G1

 

I'm also being rather sad and trying to collect one of each devestator constructicon set...

diaclone,g1 green, g1 yellow, g2 yellow and g2 orange. i'm not bothered about other dev molds!.. (yet....)

I am collecting only the binal tech and alternators

 

but i am also trying to get the prototypes and first testshots off them

 

Because of the difference between the prototypes and final products

 

And off course it is easier to bash a proto then the final product

 

even though the final product is easier accessable......

 

But with collecting there is always a story behind it

 

And mine is that i'm hooked since the first day they came out in the Netherlands and got my very first tf from my Dad for my birthday

 

Since then i've been watching,collecting and playing with tf's

 

And since a year and a half i am trying to kitbash some off the tf's that i have.

 

Maybe in the future i can pass on all of my tf's to my Son and hope he will charish

 

them like i did for twenty one years

 

Butt look at the bright side the tf's are more articulated and in better shape

 

so they will survive another twenty years?

I'm a "Completist" which means that I collect everything from every line.

Right there with ya buddie....I am the same way.

I only collect what I really want and can afford, less is more. I never want to be a completist...
