Sideswipe was repainted using automotive paint for the primer, basecoating, and car exterior color. Tamiya and Mr. Hobby acrylics were used for the 'bot mode main colors and detail work.Mods done:- Modded the feet by removing the toe/fender pieces and gluing them to the car hood. This made the feet more movie-accurate.- Added real spring coil to the 'suspension rods' behind his thighs.

Nice work, did you get the idea of removing the toes from Jin's custom Sideswipe?

Also, how well can he stand without those parts on his feet? I find him fairly challenging to get him to stand with them on, nevermind the idea of him not having them on

Very nice. Getting those springs around the suspension rods must have been a pup too. Nice work.

it's too dark. you should put the pieces that were on the feet on his forearms.

If you do that, you end up with a "partsformer".

Thanks! Nope, I saw someone post the foot mod on another TF board before Jin posted his custom.

It's actually much easier to make him stand using his 'heelspurs' to carry his weight (since he's pretty much back heavy with all that kibble), so removing the toepieces won't really make a difference if you balance him that way.

Thanks man! Yeah the springs were harder than I thought they would be. I had to re-coil the pen springs around the rods because they were too small/tightly wound to just slide on. Got a nice finger wound in the process. Haha

Well, I don't claim that the color I used was movie accurate. I just like it better than the bright, flat silver factory paintjob.

I also never really thought of putting the toe pieces on the arms, because...

- Like Tramp said, I didn't want to have unnecessary partsforming

- The toepieces don't really perfectly represent the kibble on his arms anyway (see the pic below, compare with your pic) - they don't have the headlights and they are too big and out of position (on the CG model they sort of cover his wrists).

- The 'fender piece/headlight' details are already somewhat represented in the arms, I didn't notice them as well until someone pointed it out to me:

I'll add some paint apps to match this on my Sideswipe. :)
