This is my sixth TF Repaint and my third ROTF Repaint - the Leader Class Jetfire. I tried to give the alt mode a military scaled model look since it is a warplane. Time it takes is about two or three hours a day for three weeks. Paint used is from Gunze Sangyo. Again please excuse the poor quality of the picture. Thank you for looking.

Very nice airbrushing. Great work! :)

Nice, but your airbrushing is too even..Like you followed every mold line with the same pressure, so all the tarnish looks too even. I see that with a lot of people using airbrushes to repaint, they seem to try and follow every molding line and add that darker edge around everything..It doesn't need to be so even..In real life fading doesn't happen that way either. Maybe by changing the tip or pressure coming out to a smaller spray, you can change it up more. And the layers made him too light. Even faded, the SR-71 is still a really deep grey to black color. Yours has a more of a naval boat grey kinda look to it. Nice job over all on it though. I still wish I could airbrush.

Thanks for the advice. The real thing looks much darker than in the photo. Maybe it's the flashlight of the crappy DC that I used. For the airbrush, I have to agree with you that it's quite even, maybe I was just having too much fun at that time. :D

I actually think your painting on this one is quite impressive. The evenness in the airbrushing works in your favor here. What strikes me with this piece is the fact that it transcends both the Blackbird and the Bot through your paint job. The pattern that emerges (especially in bot mode) becomes very Turtle like...adding to the "age" of the character. I must say, the movie version did not emulate OLD to the degree you have been able to present.

Great job with this in taking a chance doing something different.
