Wreckers comic Cyclonus & Skywarp

Recommended Posts

I was reading the wreckers comic the other day. (I just have this 1 issue)

But something bugs me about it.

How can skywarp & cyclonus be there at the same time?

Cyclonus & scourge were rebuilt from skywarp, thundercracker & insecticons? right?

are the writers ignoring the movie?

whats the deal?

same reason Beast Wars Megatron is not G1 Megatron. I doubt the Skywarp in the Wreckers is the original, but I'm not sure with Cyclonus. He could be either the real deal or just another TF who took his name from legends of the Great War. Not really sure.

Theory: Dual-spark. When Megatron 2 stole the sparks, both the Cyclonus spark granted by Unicron and the Skywarp spark were extracted, and were recovered by the Wreckers and placed into Vehicon bodies.

I guess that would explain why Wreckers Skywarp can also teleport.

If this Skywarp can teleport he's got to be the same guy.

all their bodies were altered by Megatron's virus. You hear Devcon and Cyclonus talking about that in the second issue, how they woke up in those current bodies after Megatron's initial strike. Devcon had his original from rebuilt though.

If Skywarp can still teleport, he might be the original. Then Cyclonus could just have taken on the name

This is the continuity heck that we are currently in. If you go with the movie, then no, Cyclonus & Skywarp cannot exist. If you go with the US Marvel comic, they were separate characters (Cyclonus was introduced in Headmasters). If you go with the UK, Cyclonus & Scourge came back in time several occasions.

Best thing to do is not think about it too much. Unless Hasbro authorizes a "Crisis of Infinite Cybertrons", TFs will have the continuity of the X-Men books.

Wreckers subscribes to the same continuity as Beast Wars. So it's basically G1 comic continuity with some minor references to the comic continuity. They address the whole Quintessons creating the TFs thing too, attempting to amalgamate that origin with the Marvel origin. In this, Primus still created the TFs to combat Unicron. The Quintessons are minions of Unicron, and he sent them out to find Primus, and they did. But instead of telling Unicron, they decided to rule over Primus and his children as their masters. So they enslave the TFs, and just like in the cartoon the TFs revolt and drive the Quintessons off of Cybertron. I actually like that they did that, since I'm more partial to the Marvel continuity.
