NICE! Good to see the actual pics.

I would like to see pics of Hot Rod as well :tfgrin

Looks pretty good as far as I can tell from the pics. That stumpy leg transformation seems to fit well with brawn. Definitely need to retake the pics when you get a camera that can focus. Good job. :thumb

And yes, pics of hotrod in both modes please.

I'm glad you like it.

Hot Rod has actually been my guinea pig that I did all my testing on before I tried anything new on my projects. So he's of some pretty POOR quality and I really kinda considered him a throwaway, who woulda thought he would be so popular. When I get a camera (WITH ZOOM!) I'll be glad to share some pics.

I had no idea this hobby was going to be so expensive.

Alternator

+ epoxy

+ paint

+ primer

+ finish

+ liquid rubber

+ brushes

+ cutting tools

+ digital camera

+ many many hours

+ a HECK OF A LOT of creativity

+ a LOT OF HELP

= 1 fullfilled childhood icon!

Prepare to to be broke with no life :tflaugh1

Just kidding its a fun but expensive and time consuming hobby.

Nice Job man...Glad you made somethign you like. Looks good...Like your head, did you use the Sculpey like I suggested or did you find a better solution?

Thanks! I appreciate all the help btw. The black bumper and silver trim along the legs was DEFINITELY needed.

I ended up using a 2 part epoxy called "Green Stuff" which I got from a RPG/collectors store.

It worked pretty good and is as hard as a rock now.

I even sculpted lines in the helmet but they don't show up in the pics. I used the "green stuff" to widen out his jaw after I sawed off the portruding portion.

The face was DEFINITELY the hardest part. That and I kept changing my mind over what colors to use.

Any further suggestions? or should I just concentrate on the hardtop? Did you like the "stumpy" leg transformation?

Stumpy legs Transformation rocks man...very nice indeed.

Cool...glad everything worked for you...can't wait to see the "up-close and personal" pics man. Well take it easy.

Any further suggestions? or should I just concentrate on the hardtop? Did you like the "stumpy" leg transformation?

Transformation looks great. The green and yellow color scheme looks a little forced, though - like you wouldn't see something like that in real life. 'Sides that, he's friggin' awesome!

Agreed, to keep with his orginal colors it DOES look a bit forced. But to justify it I like to think that his Alt mode is that of a commercial safari tour, or some TV crew that films outback films hahaha. All I need is a little "Crocodile Hunter" or "Survivor" logo on the doors hahahaha.

Oh, I also did some work on my Hot Rod. I added a vintage spoiler from my old rodimus and attached it to the roof cover. Not too sure about the bond yet, but I have tried transforming it and it does not interfere with the process. Additionally I attaced the engine to the top of the hood.

Sadly, Hot Rod is looking pretty good.

I can see where you're coming from. Maybe if you had some photographic reference to use to perfect the color scheme. :thumb

When do we get to see Hot Rod?
