The ones who got their reformatting were the ones who disobeyed Prime and left their statis tubes to help him against Unicron....The others were too heavily damaged from the assault before(When Downshift/Wheeljack tried to dash into Unicron, and Sprung/Bulkhead stopped him, causing them all to get in the path of the explosion)

err...Wheeljack was whammed into by a huge chunk of blizzard planet, pushing him into Unicron. Sprung went in to save him and got himself injured as well.

Those who disobeyed Convoy were not in stasis tubes. They were still functional, possibly not as damaged as those in the CR tubes.

Do you guys think Shockfleet and Nightscream got their alternate colours too?

To add on, regarding Galvatron talking to his Unicron counterpart, I think he was summoning the rest for help. To which Mega Zarak responded immediately, even forgoing finishing off Road Buster. Unless we're talking about Energon instead of Superlink? :tfhuh

Primus' light... bah, cheap way to sell recolors and become super strong

I wonder why Unicron didnt smash Convoy when he killed Laserwave, his hand was big enough, no?

Unicron sound like a zombie craving brains. He his case a robot zombie craving Energon.
