Let me start by saying this: I do not go in for repaints. I've never liked the idea of a buying a mold for the second time when the only thing different about is the color. There has only ever been one exception to this, and that exception is the Alternator line. Yes, they were recolors, but they're also really extensive remolds. But heck, I didn't even buy Armada Skywarp.

So I was looking at pictures of Universe Nemesis Prime earlier today, and they got me pretty jazzed for the figure. Jazzed for the line as a whole, really. Which is odd, because when Universe first launched, I thought it was the worst idea ever. But now, I can't wait to go to ToysR'Us and pick up Universe Primal for 50% off. And the hell of it is, I don't know why. I actually couldn't wait until morning to pick up some Universe figures, so I went to Meijer about an hour and a half ago (1:30 am) and picked up Skywarp and Skydive. Both good figures, and both figures I already own. What is the matter with me?

Next on my list:

Optimus Primal

Nemesis Prime

Blackarachnia

Magna Stamped/Stockade

Reptilion

Snarl

Hasbro: Hey! You! Yeah, the consumer! Bend over!

Me: ....D'okay!

Nothing's wrong my friend. Certain figures will do that to you (you in general). It could also be related to how many TF's you've bought in a while, or the limited number there of.

I know I hated the idea of Universe for a while, but then after seeing Skywarp and Tankor/Obsidian I was like "Dang, those are actually pretty cool figures." And I never had Tankor the first time around, so it gave me a sense of satisfaction, because I could get a figure I missed out on, which is the same reason I'm gonna get Depthcharge and Whirl.

So, Universe has slowly grown on me and I think overall it'll be a pretty cool line of toys...gotta get me that new Devastator (RID guys) too.

Picking and Choosing is the way to do it for this line, I think --- (meant to say that earlier, hehe)

I pick and choose from Universe, and I definately don't buy them all. I really want the machine wars repaints, just because I love the molds, and since I missed out on a lot of the Machine Wars basics, this gives me the opportunity to grab those up. I wish they would release more BW Neo toys and European/Japanese Transformers that never made it over here. The thing I hate is seeing 200 repaints of the RID brothers and spychangers. YARG!

-Turbine

Yes, I also pick and choose from the universe line. So far, I've only bought two, Skywarp, and Nemesis Prime.

I pick and choose also.

Really just for molds I don't already own(Machine Wars), but I can be tempted with nice looking new colors(Skywarp).

I ended up picking up the Magna Stamped/Stockade two pack (never got these guys first go around). Also picked up both battles in a box. Hey, they're a steal at $15.99, even if some of the colors are a bit garish. Love that Ultra Magnus though! :thumb

I don't really understand why some people constantly bash the TFU line. Yes, it is a line that will consist of nothing but repaints, but it's not like every TFan is forced to buy them. A lot of people didn't start collecting during BW, RID or even the Armada line, and TFU gives you the chance of getting ahold of them. I hate the way some of these bigots call TFU collectors Hasbro lackeys. I wish people shut up bashing the line itself and instead focus their criticism by helping Hasbro do good paint schemes or choose the right characters to repaint.

I'm the same, although I decided that I will NOT be getting Nemesis Prime. RiD Scourge is what I'm going to get for a Scourge.

As for Universe, I have Ruination, Skywarp, Tankor, and Obsidian. I may get more as time progresses.

Got a question:

What are the new figures coming out within the new few months? Any really great ones. Particularly any Decepticons/Predacons. Any help would be great.

I also picked up the Inferno repaint of RID Prowl...it's neat, gives me an excuse to have a RID "Red alert" ...hehe...

Currently, Nemesis Strika is shipping (though I only saw her once because of all the MRR guys still on the shelves), along with Fireflight (repainted SpyStreak/Nightcruz w/ 2 minicons)

On the ultra front, Magna Stampede w/ Stockade and Autobot Whirl are shipping

Next wave is supposed to be Swerve (repaint Armada Blur). In the ultras are Soundwave w/ Space Case (MW Soundwave and Cyberjet redecos, which has apprently started showing up in smaller chains like Meijers).

After that, we have Air Raid w/ Wind Sheer (cyberjets) and the recolored Build Team as Constructions.

After that, not much is known beyond some listings and protos. Ramulus is definately up and there have been several preproduction samples of Blastcharge going the rounds. We also saw recolors of Armada Hot Shot (Smokescreen), Wheeljack (Drech), BW TArantulas I and Cheetor I and TM Waspinator that have been seen, but I've heard that some of these were proposed store exclusives that fell through (like Spacewarp).

There are several unaccounted store listings:

OVERBITE with BUZZCLAW (ultra listing)

SKYJACK (deluxe)

SONAR (deluxe)

OPTIMUS PRIMAL with OPTIMUS MINOR (ultra)

THRUSTOR (deluxe)
