am i the only one who hates collectors? and im not talking about collectors who do it for their own personal collection, i mean the people who go into the store the day a toy arrives and buys like 8 of them. then they sell them on ebay for a ridiculous price. give the little kids a chance who actually want to play with them or people like me who want them on their shelves to look at....and maybe play with them!!!

 

wuts even worse are the stores that limit the quantity and only put out a certain amount...bastards

Yeah, scalpers can take the fun out of collecting, but it's even more fun when you beat them to it :mwahaha

I agree with Turbine there, scalpers are the suxxors. I collect for the fun of it, and only get one. I am the same in the other lines I collect like star wars and gijoe.

i found one hound in kmart...just pisses me off, really didnt have the money to buy him but i knew if i passed him up...forget it, i wouldnt see it for another month

I'm the type where all I care about is getting what I want for my own collection.. one of a figure is all I need. I'm not in this for profit. Even when I had an easy chance to scalp (working in the backroom of a Target), I still would only hit one of each new fig then put the rest right out on the shelf. More fun that way.. Let the kids get a chance to get them, hopefully.

Oh man, I HATE scalpers! Teh incident that drove that feeling home is the day that the Star Wars Episode 2 toys were released. I went to Wally-world just to get a look at them (ended up buying a couple anyway lol), and there was some guy with a cart literally full of those toys, and he was still looking. I glanced into his cart, and noticed he had like 3 to five of some figures...I was pretty disgusted.

Funny little epilogue: he was looking for a Count Dooku figure...asking everyone looking at the shelves if they saw it anywhere. Thats when I walked away to check out.....with my new Count Dooku figure. I was afraid he was going to jack me for it if he saw I had one. :tflaugh

this happed to me on monday my friend wanted to go to the local mall. so i went to TRU to see if they had in roddie, prowl, crull lock, sinal flair and starscream. so i parked up went it and it looked like a warzone a huge hole was missing and the only stuff left was 2 crull locks and a signal flare plus the old stuff and i have most of them now. so i was a bit(very) pissed about it

Scalpers are scum. Poison this hobby would be better without.

Some scalpers where I come from actually enlist the help of relatives/friends/connections who work at stores to hoard up & segregate the short-packed toys for their own distribution, as in they never make it to the shelves. Those store peeps are the real jerks here. A good example of that was E. Arcee. She was only sighted here a day or two then she literally disappeared, never to grace any shelf again. The scalpers are actually let in before the stores officially open and they buy off the short-pack toys.

Yup...Scalpers suck man...

 

I buy one of a figure and then IF i really like it I may go back and buy a second one of that toy, but I wait minimum of 3-4 weeks to do so...so that kids can atleast get an opportunity to grab one.

 

I was in TRU yesterday and this guy was there in the TF section, buying all the Energon Ultras, because they are like 50% off down here. I managed to grab the ONLY Tidal Wave before he could and bought him. Pissed me off, he had atleast 7 Scorponoks and 10 Landmines.
