I think Ginrai wisenes up during the series?

 

I hope I can get hold of a God Ginrai someday.

Yeah, I was shocked when I first saw God Ginrai. I had owned Powermaster OP back in the day and had always felt that the toy was more "potentally cool" than "actually cool." Lo and behold, the Hasbro reissue has blue sliding fists instead of the red, non-moving fists (molded into the arms), a die-cast front on OP's cab, blue tinted windows, blue eyes, paint apps on the legs, chrome all over the place (!), and a darker, more metallic-looking gray for the trailer, weapons, etc. (There may be more but I can't remember anything else off the top of my head.) I was totally blown away.

 

Of course the toy is still a brick, but he's a much nicer-looking one now. My one regret about the cancelling of the G1 cartoon is that they were never given time to introduce the Powermasters. I would have loved to see Powermaster Optimus Prime onscreen (and have it really be Optimus Prime, not some dude in a robot suit).

Heh, wow. I never knew there were so many differnces between Ginrai and PM Prime. Kinda makes me glad I got a Ginrai.

By the way.. that techspec on Ginrai isn't very accurate to how he acts in the Masterfoce show. "A Gentle Intellectual"? HA! He was a rude and crude teamster. He had to be kept from beating the crud out of one of the Destron Headmaster Jrs' during an intergation session. He doesn't totaly act like the Convoy who's image he bears.

I have the Original Powermaster Prime that some how survived growing up. Have tracked down a god bomber for him to make ginrai but he is still the non fist sliding, no dicast brick that he always was, but atleast a brick with some chrome now.

 

But if anyone is interested bigbadtoystore.com has a version coming out that has the extra parts that were shown in the japanese transformers toy guide. He is priced at $99.00, and you get a god Ginrai and the new extra parts as well. Can't wait to get mine.
