First Look: My Custom BT/ALT Prowl!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Sorry for the delay folks. Just got the pictures during lunch today. In the pictures you will see that the sirens are not on......I do have the sirens on now, but I wanted to be able to give you an idea and feel of the look I went for.

Enjoy!

I used for the lights a 1/24 scale pushbar which I bought off of Ebay and then I turned around and bought from the same guy the Traditional revolver style lights in red and blue for the roof and now have those attached as well......The red and blue lights I ordered were put on by the guy I bought them from......

Very nice, yo. It looks like you put a lot of patience and time into it. Very nice.

Thanks......It did take a lot of time.....I completely took the figure apart piece by piece and then stenciled and taped off everything before applying the paint apps. The red applied to the horns of the head and also at the waste were hand painted while I used several coats for the main body apps along with a clear coat to prevent chipping. The underside of the roof I decided to paint black as it went great with the overall look. All of the decals I made by hand and even designed the police badge logo myself big scale first, then downsized it to fit for the door logos and also for the shoulders. My intent was to have this figure be known and recognized as Prowl, but also updated to not be a direct G1 copy, but updated to fit with the theme of BT/Alt. The black point on the hood too was a stenciled hand cut design I did before applying the spray apps. That took a bit of time to make sure the design came out perfect. I still need to redo the left foot decal because I realize it is off. Where it says "Highway Patrol" I thought of just changing them all together and maybe having the lettering be the same color as the "Police" on the doors......white lettering with blue outlines.

Let me know.

First off, Good job overall. The push bar is a nice touch. White lettering with blue outline for "Highway Patrol" would be better since it would flow better with the rest of the car. Also, you would need to at least reapply that decal anyways since its noticably off (highway is placed a bit higher than patrol). What sort of decal paper did you use? It looks sort of like sticker paper because it looks a bit thicker than waterslide decal paper.
