Does anyone know anything about this non TF Gestalt?? ***pics*

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this topic but I didn't see a better place for it. Basically I have a non TF gestalt team that I've had since like the 5th grade (kind of forgot about him in all honesty). I always knew it wasn't real TFer but I thought it was a cool enough toy to have. Its about as sturdy as a G1 toy and has no die cast. I came across this guy during my last move and now that I'm getting a little more serious about collecting the curiousity bug has bitten me about him. Who/what the heck is he???

The gestalt is made up of 3 bots; a tank, a "Marlboro" car and a jet (F15?) The tank has 2 silver cone shaped drills that plugged into the holes in the front corners (not pictured)

Each Bot hasa "flip" gimmick to it. The tank has the two cannons out of its chest and the red car has the engine(?) in the chest. I'll get into the jet's flip feature in a few seconds...

The only text on any of the bots to give any clue to it's history is "CTL 1992" THe CTL has a globe around it. Sorry, this pic didn't come out very well.

Combined. See the Jet's flip feature?

Closer image. The jet's flip feature is an eagle's head complete with folding beak.

Another view with alt Hound standing with him so you can get an idea of scale.

So there you have it. Any idea guys? The crown is pretty anime and it looks like there are a few elements that resemble Liokaiser but the "Marlboro" has me TOTALLY stumped. Any ideas would be appreciated but if nothing comes of it, enjoy pics of my toys!! :bounce

-- PS - In case someone hasn't already seen it if you google "Marlboro transformer" it leads to some pretty nifty youtube videos.

Well I for one am TOTALLY interested in it. What does the label read? I need to know more, but i DO have a large toy book & can look up any robots to pez to whatever. So maybe a co. name will help us figure out if its a KO (doesnt look it) or something else. :)

Sorry *edit* CDL is that answer. Possibly. :schin

ok I did a little digging these seem to be based on a toy called God Max that was part of the first Brave series toys.

here are photos of the original

I was thinking Brave too, but they are made by Takara so i thought not. Ill ask Pasc he'll know

Amazing!! Got any links??? I remember googling for DAYS once and couldn't find a THING. I googled CTL and the closest thing I got was a company that does quality testing for Walmart and there was a bunch of controversy last march because they said that CTL was doing a shoddy job about safety.

Holy crap thats him!!! Wonder whats up with my different colored version?

*edit* Sorry didnt notice the link!

I tagged on a link to the bottom of my last post http://www.geocities.com/evattype01/GodMax.html sadly its a really obscure toy so finding pics is hard and given the rather generic name google its just a pain

here he is in the cartoon

you might get more luck if you look up the show he was in Brave Exkaiser

As for your toy I guess its a copy sold outside asia since the real brave series toys were never released here. the real one is made by a company called Takara (who also make transformers in japan) as for CTL I have no clue

I did just mention this. Some credit, or not acting like im invisable would be nice. :roll

*I can ask a Brave collector if he knows anything.. tomorrow*

Badass! Thanks! I thought that head of the jet looked pretty gundam-y so I figured it had to be some randome Japanese show. As for it being a stateside release, I'm not sure about that either. I actually traded it with a friend of mine who had family in Japan and according to him went every year and he claimed it was from over there.

Then again it could be good old fifth grade chain pulling... but the kid WAS Japanese (pretty sure that part was true)

LOL not forgetting you deceptikhan props to you too.

Here is another video that shows each bot transforming. Whats cool is the not only are the toys show accurate (other than colors) but the transformation sequences are accurate too.

I don't think so. But you can find fansubs online I have a few but only the first few episodes

also If you find yourself wanting to get the rest of the team Brave Exkaiser has been reissued I think it was in 05/06 as well as their being a masterpeace style toy that IMO is awesome and they even made him a combiner with a huge ass sword. The train guys might be hard to find and they made quite a few train toys in the brave series so finding the right 2 guys might be even harder
