I'll admit...my holiday zeal has steadily dampened over the years. After the toys stop appearing under the tree, you kind of gradually lose that magical feeling on Christmas morn...*sigh*. Well, at least one thing still tickles my fancy. I've always loved setting up a little village under the tree to go with my train set. I can't believe I never thought to do this before, but I decided to spice up the scene with some Transformers doing battle! And, did you ever realize that Mini-Cons make for some pretty sweet little ornaments? Of course, it all depends how tolerant your family is of your hobby.

 

So, does anyone else out theor like to incorporate their love of Transformers with decorating for the holiday season? If so, what are your "traditions"?

 

(Sadly, I have never tried imbedding pictures in my posts before...naturally, being a little slow in the head, I couldn't make it work. Hard to believe I'm that bad at this type of stuff in this day and age, huh? Sadly, no pics...yet!)

I know what you mean about the fading of "holiday zeal". But then I had a child and it came back full force. I love it. I've actually finished most of my shopping for my daughter...haven't started my wife :tflaugh

 

As for having TFs included in the holidays...well last year I got the Optimus Prime tree ornatment from Carlton cards and this year my wife was kind enough to pick up Megatron. Seems like maybe every year they will release a new character? The Optimus looks very MP Prime-like and Megatron looks very Revoltech-like. So ya, my tree gets some TF love.

I have tried to put the mini-cons on the tree but they kept falling off. I then use some strings, tie it around their chest under their arm and then tie it in the back. Whoala an ornament you can hang.

On (Black) Friday, we set up the Christmas decorations. We put up a tree and some stuff above the fireplace mantle. I put together the tree and put the star on top, and (initially) put up the lights but they had to be rearranged. I got to set up the "manger" scene in the fire place. I didn't want to use any of the manger figures, so I made my own scene.

 

 

And here are the tree and other stuff that my GF put together.

 

I have all my construction-vehicle-alt-moded TFs in the middle of decorating my small desktop tree. C Mudflap hanging the star, Long Haul dumping out a pile of ornaments, etc.

I put up the tree and lights and then let my kids put their sh!t on it. There's a bunch of Care Bears and Star Wars and Thomas the Tank Engine and crap, no TF stuff.

 

(I do, however, always wait until my wife is sound asleep one night, then sneak in to the living room and stage a Mobile Suit Gundam battle diorama in her antique Montgomery Ward Christmas village using some Gundam models.)

I don't decorate with my Transformers, but I do have several Transformers ornaments for the tree, mostly (probably all) Movie related.

My wife has a bunch of Dept. 56 snow village stuff, and I've been known to sneak an AT-AT or other Hoth-related personage into the scene every now and then.
