Hello...this is a WIP that I've been messing around with. I saw a wicked cool pic of this guy that someone had drawn, and thought it would be cool to have a Topspin that could pose and whatnot. He doesn't transform anymore really, but I have to say that I really don't care...If I need one to fold up again, I'll go on Ebay and buy one for a dollar. Legs and arms came from Classics Ramjet. Wings come from a horribly abused G1 Overdrive, and the guns came from a model of a Star Wars Lambda class shuttle. The shiny blue stuff came off the wrapper from a Rice Krispy Treat...it HAD to be that color blue too. He's kind of rough...there's still some paint…

Hello all, I am a total kitbashing n00b. All I ever have done is the Alt Prowl leg mod. Anyway, I just got a TRU reissue Starscream and I'd like red eyes on him. I also have Thrust and Dirge from my childhood that could use the red eyes too. Anyway, I was looking at Walmart and saw some paint pens, from Testor's, near the model kits. There were two types, I think acrylic and enamel. Does anyone have experience using these? Which of the two would work better? Would it be easy to clean off and try again if I mess up? Or would I be better off with a tiny brush and bottle? If brush and bottle would be best, what type of paint would be recommended? Any a…

  5. Started by Valandar,

Just a few minor paint touches, and it's already LOTS better than it was - in many ways, it's better than the original Classics Starscream. All I really have left to do is paint the tip of the nosecone blue. I should note there's only two yellow dots in his shoulder vents because of the 'grill' at the bottom of the vents. I was debating whether or not to paint those silver.

  6. Started by dj seifer,

I was playing around in Photoshop the other day, tinkering with coloring Tow-Line into G1 Ironhide colors, and for some reason, I thought to myself, "You know, he looks like he'd make a good Prime." This is what I have done so far. I still need to color his arms and upper body red, but it's turning out pretty good, I think. What do you say?

This will be the first repaint/kitbash that I have attempted and I have read the advice posted about the process and I have what I feel is a decent plan of action, I just have a few questions and any help would be appreciated. I plan to spraypaint the front of the van, where the red glass is, in silver then mask off the window sections with painters tape and respray the peice in red. What brand of paint should I use for this (and the project in general)? Should I prime the peice before hand, if so should it be light or dark primer? I am going to dye the light brown plastic peices black. What type of dye should I use and how strong should I make it? Any prefere…

  8. Started by Garage Mod,

Who's Toxitron? He's one of unreleased figures shown at Botcon by Hasbro, originally a remold of the G2 Laser Prime. Here I've gone and created his Transformers Animated counterpart using a TFA Wreck-Gar. The prime-ish head came from a Koto-Takara PVC bust of Prime, his alternate Hazmat head came from a DC Direct Armory Batman helmet. I wanted to be able to swap between an original look at the Laser Prime version with the heads and gave him a Toxitron label, as well as the pea-soup n' purple paint job. You can pop off the dumpster-posts and I added a toxo-blaster made from a GI Joe RoC weapon, as well as the buzzsaw from an Astro Boy Buzzsaw Samurai robot. Toxitron may ne…

  9. I just got through editing some images of my toy cabinets and such from back home. I got a new digicam for Christmas and while I was home I took photos of all of my TFs and other toys in my bedroom (and my bedroom itself). You can see those galleries here. Of the first TF Cabinet, the top shelf has some Christmas lights behind black posterboard for a starry space effect as does the pre-movie G1 shelf below it. The G2-beyond shelf has rope Christmas lights on the shelves (which is glass). The top shelf has a florescent light installed and the G2 shelf has a black light (which can been seen in the Lights sub folder). The second TF shelf has a florescent light o…
