Dinobot alternators

Recommended Posts

Here is a picture of my dinobot alternator on grimlock I decided to paint his chest like it should look like as if it were the cartoon version, of course it still needs another hand of paint on his chest and added some Boss decals.

On Sludge he is a custom being done for a customer, I still need to paint a little bit of here and there plus add the logo decals of the autobot symbol. Please note I did him from Ricochet with a darker grey metallic silver color other than silverstreak being a lighter silver. The color being used gives him a more feeling of a dinobot in the cartoon and the gold rims and gold lines on the rear window help out resemble his gold feet. Also the red lines on the interior seats help look good along with his red chest of course needs a another hand of paint job there.

Hope you all like them and give me your opinion as well if you are fellow customizers, pictures of your attempeted dinobot alternators are highly welcomed to be posted here.

Looks pretty good, Grimlock was well in need of his missing gold on his front.

I can't say the WRX ever struck me as a dinobot-compatible alternator, I personally believe it's a little bit small. The paintjob does look pretty good though.

If I were to make an alt dinobot or 2 I think I'd use the Dodge Ram SRT-10 mold due to it's larger size, or do something along the lines of what bumblebee1251 did here and re-shell a grimlock/wheeljack frame with another beefy muscle-car, but that's just me :thumb

Yeah, Grimlock works with the gold plated front.

And you know, regardless of what Alternator you've used, I totally get a Sludge vibe from that one. To me, that's all that matters in a custom/kitbash, so you've done the job well. :)

Nice work!

Thanks guys, I sure wished I would of had more comments or suggestions, I really didn't like that other guys Dinobot it just does't give him the color look. Anyways if any others have done Dinobot alternator go ahead and put your images this will not only help me but others as well. thanks again for your comments guys.

Well, if I could make a suggestion--is there any way to get larger pictures? Could you take some individual shots and post them?

any plans on doing all 5 Dinobots?

I wanted to do a set of them, but lacked funding.

I wanted to make slag from a jeep and swoop from alt mirage

I like them but I think Sludge would be perfect with the Prime pickup body.

Here is a close up for the Alternator Sludge but I have not been able to finish him because of being to busy at the time, I am working on doing the rest of them, I will be doing Snarl from Jazz, Slag from Rollbar, and Swoop from windcharger. I was thinking the same thing on doing Sludge from Optimus Prime but didn't gave the look like G1 so I decided from Ricochet due the the gold and red interior on the seats. Anyways hope did image looks bigger, any more questions let me know.
