Robot Master RM-05 R-Blade Preview

Recommended Posts

Remy has sent over some close-up pics of the new Robot Masters RM-05 R-Blade figure. This figure bears an uncanny resemblance to the Generation 1 Jetfire figure. A fitting homage to a figure we thought we'd never see made again. Check out the pics here.

now comon do a repaint of the stelth bomber

I don’t know if this is just me but the robot masters line has turned out to be one of the biggest let downs in recent years….the potential for greatness was so high and to get a line so far from greatness is unbelievable. :tdown

I think its a horrible series personaly, the second I saw how small those things where I was like... wtf...?

What were you guys thinking it was going to be? I think they kicksass. Remolded versions of legacy toys are way better than repaints in goofball colors. Come on, the Convoys, Starscream, R-Blade and the Mirage like fig Riije are all pretty cool for money. Sure another sophisticated BT type line would have been cool, but who has money to buy hi-end toys all that time.

Although Im not a great fan of some of the molds used (like the G2megatron/Megaplex ones), Im happy that Takara are kind of releasing a "budget" line of Tfs, from past and present, different universes, that kids and older fans can afford to get.

Keeping all the Tfs at a certain scale (with the upcoming "Starscream and BB"-esque G2 Bots as the big(est?) of the range keeps a sense of proportiona, lets us buy affordable Tfs and frees Takara to produce cheap, but fairly nice Toys. This way, if molds to old G1 bots have been lost, or they are too costly to produce, then new, basic versions (like "TF:Junior") can be produced. In this way, improved molds of old toys can be sold, making collecting older Tfs easier, and also not damaging sales of hard to find g1 Tfs taht they are based upon (like starsabre and Victory Leo, perhaps).

Im looking forward to more G1 and besat wars toys getting the treartment!
