Another Brawl fix

Recommended Posts

I've seen lots of mention of using nail polish in the shoulder peg hole. The fit on mine was actually pretty tight. The problem seems more like the shoulder wouldn't push in flush because of the protrusion above the peg hole (covers the tread automorph gears). So I busted out my dremel and ground some of it away. It's pretty thin, but I managed to not grind through it completely.

Just have one done for now, left in the pic is unchanged, right after the grinding. It still sits at a bit of a weird angle, but it pushes all the way in now. 2nd row is after 3 jumping jack style flexes of the shoulder. The original pops out at this point (heck it pops out if you just knock the arm). It takes a few more times before the modded one pops out. I can pose his arm now pretty much without worry. The carved section is covered up in alt-mode too.

Nice mod, but I personally will stick with pushing the tabs closed beneath the arms. I've got a steady hand, but I don't have the guts to cut my TFs...O_o

Ok, here's another look at the carved section. Just take out the one screw. Take off the cover off and you can work on it without worrying about the rest of the bot.

Probably only shaved down a millimeter or so, but I can understand those who don't want to take a blade to there bots. Things could have gotten ugly if I'd overdone it. Still thinking about trying to tweak it a little bit tho...

I've had more problems with the ball joints on the missile racks than I did with the shoulders, but to get it to fit properly, you need to push the turret up into place behind the head and those shoulder will line up with those holes...

I do have the turret pushed up and the shoulders line up with the hole. My point is, no matter how hard you push, the peg won't go all the way in because the shoulder plate is blocked above the peg hole. My case wasn't really fixing a major problem (like completely floppy balljoint), but a minor improvement. So I can grab him by the arm now and not worry about it popping loose.

Grrr, there is something with this mold. :( Picked up another brawl to replace an automorph gear (and use for some parts). Had it open for less than five minutes and I strip the gears on that one too. Trying a few other minor mods that'll I'll post later.

I do have one question. Anyone know how to get the light-piping out of the head? Seems like one of mine was over-glued. Carved it up pretty good with an exacto and pryed the heck out of it with a screwdriver and it still won't budge. They couldn't just put the screw hole through the light-piping like on wreckage?
