Mass Shifting TF System

Recommended Posts

A very long time ago, I wrote a guide to all things Transformers. I wanted to link and use as many conflicting ideas about TFs together as I could. One idea that was floating around my noggin was trying to work out why Energon was so darn important, why Tfs could mass-shift and why Cybertron was so darn big. I also wanted to know why the Allspark and Sparks were as they were and what the Matrix had to do with it all.

Here are some extracts that I made concerning them all.

"TRANSFORMATION PROCESS"

Transformers are beings of pure energy, living inside a form of matter (These energy forms are known as "Sparks"). Thus, because of this, a Transformer has a natural affinity with 'matter-to-energy' and 'energy-to-matter' processes.

This is shown most recognizably by a Transformer's transformation process. A Transformer first converts matter (ie: specific unwanted parts of its robotic/alternate form) to enegon and then converts the enegon back into matter. This process not only aids the more basic kinetic transformations involved (i.e.: the traditional use of hinges, socket joints, etc), but also helps Transformers with transformations that require one form to be of a different dimension (or size) to another. Examples of Transformers that have forms like this are Soundwave (Robot to cassette recorder) and Ravage (Robotic Panther to Cassette). However, the greater the differences in the end form to the previous, the more extra energon is needed for that process.

Another notable example of energy transformation is in the Oracle's reconfiguration of Optimus Primal and his fellow Maximals on Cybertron. They must release their energy to enable themselves to transform. In fact, it was the Oracle itself that told Primal that they were beings of energy before they became beings of matter.

Another, perhaps rarer, method employs the use of "black-hole" technology.

A Transformer can, if properly equiped, portion off an area of sub-space via the use of a small black-hole creator. This then stores the Transformer's spare parts in sub-space until needed. One Transformer that had this device incorporated into his weaponry was the Decepticon Leader Megatron. He was able to siphon off small amounts to fuel his fusion cannon, to great effect (and risk to himself).

Any use of the matter to energy/energy to matter (or black-hole) process in the aid of transformation will in itself require a large alternate source of energy. Transformers use "Energon" for this purpose."

"ENERGON

Energon is a specialized light-mass energy that Transformers need to transform and exist. Appearing in crystals (and free-flowing "Plasma Energy") in its raw form and cubes in its processed form, Energon is comprised of densely compacted arrangements of local energy sources. For example, Transformers can fill Energon batteries with an energy source (i.e.: electricity, oil or solar rays) and them compact them to form life sustaining Energon cubes.

Energon, in its raw form is highly dangerous to unprotected Transformers however. In this state, a Transformer will be overloaded by Energon and go into immediate stasis lock, if exposed for a certain period of time (in the case of Plasma Energy, the effect is instant). The only effective treatment is an infusion of fresh (and processed) Energon or treatment in a CR tank.

The most viable prevention of stasis lock in the presence of raw Energon is for a Transformer to be cybernetically altered to include organic tissue with its makeup. Organic tissue is completely immune to raw Energon's effects and Cybertronian technology has, over the years taken advantage of this fact. Transformers that utilize organic tissue in their structures include "Pretenders" "Target/Head/Power Masters" and the Beast Wars Maximals and Predacons."

I used the idea of Energon being LIGHTER than conventional forms of energy to explain why TFs and even Cybertron can shift size, mass and also why Cybertron can be huge and yet light enough to not collapse (its honey-combed/wafered by energon deposits.

So what do you think? Obvioulsy this isnt real science. I wanted to say that Energon is the key to all things TF. Its part of their sparks, they drink it, eat it, it helps them with the very process of Transforming. In essence, Transformers ARE Enegon, in a way, via their sparks. I figured the All Spark is where PURE Energon or some super form of Energon exists. The Matrix is a conduit to that or to Primus, who himese;f is Energon.

Perhaps the Energon in our universe is a bi-product or remnant of the energy that spilled out from the dieing world or not-so-dieing world that Primus/Unicron came from and entered the universe the same time they did?

Well, I hope you enjoyed the above. There is more where that came from. I even tried to include themore traditional black hole theory too.

I welcome ALL comments. Hope this becomes an interesting discussion!

Very interesting ideas, but I'd rather still think of mass-shifting as something like this.

Lol. Thats actually what reminded me to re-post this slice of my own Tf posting past.
