i'm not suggesting anything about the ALT line coming to an end, but i found this odd- i was wondering if anyone else could tell me about any similar experiences, or perhaps suggest a an explanation--

i happened to catch 'Alternators Jaguar - Ravage' & 'Alternators Honda Civic Si Coupe' when they went up for pre-order on amazon.com-- so, the rumored new ravage and rumble ALT.s. That was several weeks ago. today, i received this email:

Hello from Amazon.com.

We are sorry to report that we will not be able to obtain the following

items from your order:

"Transformers Jaguar - Ravage"

"Transformers Alternators Honda Civic Si Coupe"

Though we had expected to be able to send these items to you, we've

since found that they are not available from any of our sources at this

time. We realize this is disappointing news to hear, and we apologize

for the inconvenience we have caused you.

We must also apologize for the length of time it has taken us to reach

this conclusion. Until recently, we had still hoped to obtain these

items for you.

These unavailable items have been cancelled from your order.

Note: If you took advantage of a promotional offer ....

Your order is now closed....

etc, etc......

i contacted them for more detailed info, but haven't yet heard back.

i check the sites i knew were listing these guys, but can no longer find them listed anywhere... except for amazon, which has them listed as Availability: This item is currently not available.

thoughts?

My guess at this moment is just that their pre-orders went up prematurely. According to Hasbro at SDCC, there are no more Alts coming out this year at all, with Nemesis Prime being the final figure of the year. That's quite a long time to hold pre-orders for, over 5 months since those pages went up.

they do that as standard after they dont get the items in after so long

This is nothing to get worried about. The characters havent even been officially announced yet. I think we'll see them before Botcon.

That's an amazon form letter. If there distributors give them bad news on a product they cancel the order. I couild mean the item is discontinued, that amazon decided not carry it anymore, that that distributor isn't carrying it or that it's delayed so far that its not worth keeping in the system indefinately.

BTW Amazon hasn't cancelled my prowl, mirage or camshaft orders, which they think should ship soon.

yeah, i figured as much. they replied and said "Unfortunately, when we contacted our supplier, we learned that "Transformers Jaguar - Ravage" and "Transformers Alternators Honda Civic Si Coupe." is no longer available for distribution from the manufacturer. Therefore, this item has been cancelled from your order."

it was just odd to me, as i've had pre-orders sit for months and never saw that happen. they said they would put me back in the queue if the items were to be released. i like doing that with amazon, since it's free shipping.
