Transformers movie fillers

Recommended Posts

So, I got to thinking that alot of potential background information and stories on the Transformers would be lost with the movie due to time constaints. I was thinking what everyone thought of the idea of Hasbro making cartoon fillers for the movie, similiar to what Lucas did with Cartoon Network for the Clone Wars. Thought it would be great way to get background stories out there for the hardcore fans without impacting the movie for the casual fans

I generally hate that stuff. It's never truly independent.

"Hey, those Matrix sequels make no sense to me."

"Well, did you watch the Animatrix?"

"No."

"Did you finish the Enter The Matrix video game?"

"Uh, no...I've never played it."

"Well, there you go. That's why you don't get it. You need the whole story."

"The movie is supposed to be the whole story!"

I wouldn't mind a cartoon show based on the movie, but in terms of the movie's actual storyline, it needs to stay in the movie.

I agree the Matrix stuff sucked, but did you watch any of the Star Wars cartoons that when with the movies. I thought they did very well with introducing the characters and filling in the stories without impacting the movie at all.

I did watch some of it. I had to stop when I got depressed about how much better a five minute cartoon was when compared to the entire new trilogy.

I guess not having watched all the Clone Wars cartoons, I can't speak as to how they impacted the movie...but I sure got the sense I was missing something when I watched Episodes II and III...

The feel I got from the cartoons was it was cool info or fun to watch, but after watching the movies there wasn't anything that made me say thank god i watched Cartoon Network, lol.

The Clone Wars cartoons while not essential to understand the story, DID offer extra insight and info for anyone who wanted it.

And yes the cartoons were significantly better than the films.

Isn't IDW doing a 2007 movie prequel or something?

There were only a couple spots in the Clone Wars cartoon that really carried over to Episode 3.

One was why General Grievous coughed and whizzed so much (cause during the last episode of CW, Mace Windu crushed his chest, and messed him up good).

But CW was a GREAT Cartoon.

Thats true, although it wasn't imperative that we knew that, just useful.
