Japanese TF Experts Question Re: Wheeljack

Recommended Posts

He died in the movie. The movie aired in Japan with minor changes (such as characters entrances featuring their names printed onscreen) but I thought it was otherwise pretty much intact. So Wheeljack died.

And yet, I've seen pictures of Wheeljack from Zone. Which is set in 2025, I think.

Was there an explanation in Japan for his return?

While we're on the subject, I'm curious what Goldbug/Bumblebee's actual last appearance in an episode is.

He didn't die in the Japanese continuity. I am not 100% sure of the specifics, but the continuity with him still alive was made for Japan at about the same time the movie began showing in the US.

Yeah, the Movie wasn't exactly canon in the Japanese Timeline, at least at that point. I believe when they finally showed it on that side of the Pacific, they may have tried to work it in somehow, or it may have stayed an "alternate universe" story.
